Random Confessions

I watched close to an entire hour of people freaking out on airplanes today. Thanks YouTube suggestion algorithm :bang:

It’s funny now but the one time I was on a plane that had an unruly passenger delay our departure by almost an hour in Denver was super uncool!

While checking new books to make sure they were all catalogued right I came across a book of short stories by a Japanese writer and was amused by the title of the first short story "The Whale Who Fell in Love with a Submarine".

Suffice to say, there was not a happy ending and I almost ended up crying at work.

Poor whale 🐳

After weeks of following heart-wrenchingly sad news of the world, finally something joyful. Our little family welcomed a new member a few weeks early and I am a pleased proud Great Aunt.. Thea Aille

What a beautiful name!

I was curious to know the origins of the name. I knew from derived words in English that Thea meant "goddess" in Greek, but I didn't know about Aille. So I went searching, and it turns out that "áille" is the Irish word for "beauty". (I don't speak Irish, although I would like to learn).

A beautiful goddess. A fitting name indeed!

Congratulations!

Thank you for your interest.. names are fascinating
They chose “Thea” because it is a short form of “Timothea” - God’s Honor … in remembrance of her uncle (her Dad’s brother Timothy who passed away sadly many years ago.. )
Aille is indeed Irish for her maternal grandmother’s family .. (aside: her maternal grandfather is Italian and his family name is reflected as part of her last name so there you go.. a Beautiful Goddess indeed! )

Awww. "Thea" being a tribute to a lost family member is an even lovelier story than the goddess one.

It is really interesting hearing the stories behind names. And the coincidences.

A couple of days ago, I was taping something and got the credits for an episode of "Quantum Leap" at the start of the recording. And there was an actor in that episode with the exact same name as my Dad! 😲 But, better than that, he was playing a character with the same first name as me! :jaw:

Cue "Twilight Zone" music...

The universe works in mysterious ways..:jaw::biggrin:

Doesn't it feel frustrating when you have great idea for figure skating programs in your head, but you don't skate so you can't really show how it's supposed to look like? Lol.

Cause same.
At least no one has ever said to you: “0h No! That Won’t Work!”:drama::slink::eek:
But I can understand why…
It is a nice moment too when someone actually skates to something you suggested somewhere along the line..
