Literally no English-speaking announcer pronounces debut properly, i.e. with the French pronunciation. I have given up on it.

If Stili doesn't make it, it would be almost the equivalent of Simone Biles not qualifying for the AA final. Unfortunately, most of the gymnasts just ahead of her are doing the clubs and she's doing the ribbon, which usually scores lower anyway.

Takhmina and Daria are unfortunately gymnasts with a history of inconsistency, and today it seems like it was not meant to be for them.

After Arina Averina's Firebird debacle, I don't see why anyone is tempting fate by choosing this music for their ribbon routine.

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, debut is pronounced "day-BYOO" in US English (which I am familiar with) and "DAY-byoo" in British English. Not quite the "day-BOO" I heard on the stream, I wonder if that is closer to or farther from the original French word...
