I have a friend who doesn't follow figure skating, but when she saw this image, she said that it looked like a cute Hobbit meeting a pretty Elf for the first time! (J.R.R. Tolkein describes his Elves as being at least 6 ft tall, beautiful and elegant, so that describes Roman perfectly. )

I'm glad that you can still appreciate his skating despite the jump errors. I've been his fan long enough to know that he has trouble controlling his nerves during a competition. *sighs* His scores in both segments were a bit lower than at last year's SCI.

So far, the only good-quality SCI Roman-related vids that I could find from TSN's television broadcast is a new promo, a brief clip while he's waiting for his turn to skate, and his LP. If more content shows up, I'll of course share it with you guys.

I saw Roman in person at SC. I’ve had my eye on him the last couple of seasons, but seeing him live for the first time made me appreciate his qualities even more. He really stood out to me in the men’s competition, despite his issues with some of the jumps. He has such a natural beautiful expressiveness about him, as well as power and strength and musicality. He’s becoming one of my favorites in men’s, and I look forward to seeing him in the years to come.

I can't be certain, but I think that's all the Canadian televised footage of him this time around. He received slightly less screen time compared to the 2018 SCI (his Q&A fluff wasn't broadcast, while last year we had the Romsky vlog fluff), and there's less bonus material as well (no interviews, for instance).

I was so annoyed by Rod Black's voice-over during Roman's new SCI promo that I decided to teach myself some minor video editing, and I replaced the original audio with music that is used during the animated intro for TSN's figure skating coverage. I couldn't decide which section of the music that I liked best, so I made three different versions.

In my opinion, Roman somehow looks even prettier in the promo without Rod Black's distracting voice.

Roman had two jump errors (including missing the combo ), yet his score was good enough for 4th place. I'm totally shocked (but in a good way!) and I'm utterly thrilled that for the first time in his career, he finished in the Top 5 in any segment at a Grand Prix event!!! :hap85: Since he'll be in the final group for the free skate, the main NBC network (which is my sole source of figure skating television coverage for most of the GP series) may broadcast his performance Sunday afternoon if he has a decent outing.

I just woke up (I tried to get up early for the men's free skate, but it's Saturday and I stayed in bed), and I'M HYSTERICAL RIGHT NOW BECAUSE ROMAN WON THE BRONZE, HIS FIRST GP MEDAL!!!!!! :hap57: He shattered his previous Personal Best score in this segment by 13.27 points, and his total score by 13.64!

I was very very impressed by his two performances. His free skate was so beatiful. And his spins! Isn't this his very first senior GP medal? He must be over the moon.
