Rosters are up

Fans of Virtue/Moir may be dismayed to find that Igor Zavozin (father of Max Zavozin of Matthews/Zavozin) is judging the ice dance competition.

I actually don't see why this would be any problem in this competition. Now if M/Z were competing here that would be a different story. I realize that in juniors the V/M vrs. M/Z rivalry was big, but now that they're both in seniors I would hope they would both have their eyes focused on the more experienced teams up the ladder that they have to try to best, rather than each other.

I see it as a problem that Zavozin is judging ice dance at the Senior level at all. It is definitely a conflict of interest. Whether M/Z are in the competition or not, M/Z will be facing these other teams at later GP events or down the pike, at Worlds. The temptation would be to mark down teams who are or have been in close competition with M/Z, like V/M or the Kerrs, or Pechalat/Bourzat. P/B and V/M are competing at TEB.

Sarah Meier's mother is also an ISU judge, and she has removed herself from judging while Sarah is competing. That is the reasonable thing to do.

I see results are up for Men's SP. Klimkin leads, Othman is 3rd.

ETA: Yikes, what was I looking at? ? ?
