That's quite all right Tonight's the Night. I've seen jump competitions before, and - dare I say it - they bore me. I actually like the idea of it, just as I like the idea of a spin competition. I would take a look at that, just to find out for myself whether that would bore me too (or maybe not). It probably will depend on what they are going to be: who has the best Bielman (boring), Camel, etc., or whether it would be more in the sense of finding new positions and still remaining fast and centered. The last way of doing a spinning contest would probably be fun. The competitive aspect is fine.
And, yes, I love how the elements and the music come together as a whole in the programme, especially when skaters show off good skating skills into the bargain. It's why I was so enjoying the men's programmes at the Skate Canada Challenge - oh boy the skating skills and so many men with - yes - good spins. I didn't really mind there being less quads on the whole, and even just double axels in the lower ranks. Don't get me wrong, I like some good jumping too - within a programme! Fascinating how some skaters can include difficult jumps, and still show a beautiful programme with all that takes.
