Sarina Joos shines as Italy's new figure skating sensation

Sarina Joos established herself as the new top Italian figure skater during the 2023-24 season. The 17-year-old, who previously competed for Switzerland, made the switch to represent her mother's home country of Italy. Half Swiss and half Italian, Joos expressed her happiness with this decision, and her performance results have confirmed her satisfaction.

For the upcoming season, Joos has prepared two new programs with Edoardo De Bernardis and provided some insights into her new routines during our interview.

We also explored her aspirations on and off the ice, her deep connection to Italy, and what she particularly enjoys about representing the country. Joos described a typical day in her busy schedule and shared how she spends her rare free time.

With an eye on her home Olympics in 2026, Joos is rigorously preparing for her first full senior season for Italy in 2024-25.

It would indeed! And with Guignard / Fabbri being a top dance team, several strong pairs, and some strong men's competitors, it's certainly possible - especially if Joos continues to develop.
