Sasha's "new" ending pose

For once I'm looking forward to reading Sasha's journal.

She updated a few days ago. Said she was very happy with her Marshall's skates, but did not say anything about the ending. The mystery continues. If she's smart, she'll never say one way or the other.

Yes the longest thread for whether somebody fell or not in a cheesefest exhibition. It seems that ending pose got Sasha in Sports Ilustrated this week. Yes dying on the ice whether you planned it or not is a good Kodak moment.

I'll do my part. now. But I have something to add. I did rewatch the program, year it was a slip on edge.....but nevertherless a beautyfull fall. I vote it for the best one.

I couldn't agree more, DancinDiva03! Any skater who fell at the Marshall's Cheezefest automatically looked ugly and, as at least this this thread's expert, should get called out about it by you!

Now warm-up, get psyched, and get out there and complain about any and all skaters who fell. Go for it, DancinDiva03! I'm rootin' for at least a 10-page thread on those three!

P.S. Jiminy Crickets, OF COURSE, Sasha fell! And to take off from where Joe started, she also followed the first rule of performance in the case of mistakes: Cover, cover, cover.

Seriously, I can't believe we have a six-page thread over whether an ending in an exhibition skate was or was not a mistake. It's not like there was anything good to discuss, such as Matt Savoie's gloriously skated and choreographed program and who the choreographer was. I say it looked like David Wilson's work.

I volunteer to take the role of Grinch and say, "So, DancinDiva. Give us your ratings on Alissa Czisny's falls, Emily Hughes's, and Michelle Kwan's. Don't spare anybody. We're tough mofos here at GS!

If anything, all the publications, the judges, and her official site are trying to sweep this under the rug by saying it's magificent, etc. Only the fans IIRC are talking about it being a mistake that she fell at the end.

It's only an exhibition, though. It doesn't matter, really. She can bounce back for Nats.

Anyway, accident or not, it still fit in with her performance and the music. She looked like she was having fun and she sparkled. I hope she skates like that at Nationals and then hopefully Olympics.

Yup, I'd ike to see her fall like that at both Nats and the Olys - then I'll believe it was deliberate.

I'm not worrying. Actually I don't really care if Sasha does well or not at Nats.

Then again, there could be opposites to everything. If she does well, people will be saying she already peaked. If she doesn't do well, people will say, well there's always the OLYs. Which way do you go??

All ladies figure skaters, put their bodies in these positions at some time. In order to do these spins and spirials, these ladies have to get into these positions, not only Sasha but all the ladies-Michelle included. Probably if they were dressed in hockey equiptment, we wouldn't have to worry about unattractive moves and positions. Probably they should were pants like Irina. The problem is that its not the moves that you don't like but the skater that is doing the move.hwell:

Agreed. Why certain people make such a big deal over these positions is beyond me. I simply say get over it. Why don't you have a problem with ladies' FS as a whole then? EVERY lady skater I know of gets into these positions. I'm with millie - it's just an excuse for some people to insert digs at said skater.

You are entitled to your opinion. However, I'm speaking in a more general sense. I can't speak for millie, though.

If anybody is interested to see more woman's body, figure skating and ballet are not the right places to look for. These two perfoming arts do not provide any opportunities for people to develop desire. There are other places that you can see clear and more.
Sasha did a great job to save her ending pose. When the last spin position is Y or bielman, sometimes it's a little hard to hold the balance, especially if you are tired, or skate in a very cold rink.
