lsp Wow!

She has definitely done this sp better but it was still a good skate.

Total: 53.49
there were definitely some downgrades

Now, after seeing Caroline's program I'd say Mirai should definitely go for the triple lutz-triple toe in her short program. She could definitely break out ahead if she did. Her spins and spirals will definitely be graded as highly as Caroline's, and the two are clearly the head of the field in those departments (sorry Alissa).

Only 53.49 for Caroline! Lowest TES and lowest PCS of the season, I think. I think the 3F-3T must have been downgraded, also -2 GOE, and the 3Lz had an 'e' deduction (probably -1.6 GOE on average). The 2A was really slow - she might've gotten -1 GOE on that. She changed the entry a little, which seems to have made her lose speed.

Ergh. Not good jumps night for Caroline!

Wow - I just had my own attack of nerves. So not her best but it's fantastic that Caroline stayed in the moment and did well!!!

Caroline looked really nervous. The only other time I saw her looking so nervous was in the LP at Skate America. Nervousness seems to slow her right down (even more than usual).

Bebe just skated a very energetic program, and beat Caroline despite a popped 3Lz out of footwork -- her speed/energy really helped the PCS.

Oh my goodness, this is not a good ladies' short program so far. :boohoo:

Oh my!! Poor Caroline. It had to happen sometime I guess. Maybe she will pull a Patrick Chan!!! The judges must have been quite harsh on her to give her such a low score. Poor thing. oh well, I still believe in her!!

Feraina, what was the different entry anyway? Is she not doing a spread eagle into it anymore??

Well, a 3-2 combo (downgraded) and -2 GOE is not worth much at all. And Caroline got -GOE on both the 3Lz and the 2A, whereas Bebe probably got +GOE on both. And Bebe had a lot more speed/energy, and the crowd was more into it. I see how Bebe could've come out ahead, even though I love Caroline.

It's hard to explain exactly what Caroline did differently with her 2A entry. Was it kind of like a inside spread eagle instead of outside, maybe? Or maybe she put her free foot down inadvertently and improvised on the spur of the moment? She had almost no speed at all when she stepped up to the 2A, it was a miracle that she pulled it out at all. To think of it, it was so low that maybe it was downgraded? Which means she would've gotten credit for only a 1A as well as -3 GOE, since the 2A was required.

She looked really nervous! I thought she tripped a little going into her footwork sequence, and she was also off her music a little the whole time. She skated basically the same SP all season on the GP, and this SP was different here and there, I don't know if they changed it deliberately and so it was a little new for her, or whether she missed small things here and there and was making it up as she went along. :p
