Unbelievable. There is no way Kimmie just skated the best program. I don't even see why the judges care that much. They could put Rachel, Mirai, and Caroline in the top three spots and still send whoever they want to worlds. I guess it won't look to good if the US champ, and best hope for a world medal, gets defeated by a bunch of youngsters.

Am I crazy, or is anyone else wondering how Meissner was just placed first?

Not really. Only Caroline and Bebe, at this point, could have challenged her, and both messed up. It sounds like Caroline had deductions on every jump. Bebe popped a jump and her score is just under Kimmie's. Doesn't sound bad to me.

I am sure these judges will make sure they end up in 5th or 6th. I don't even like Caroline Zhang, but she definitely skated a better program than Kimmie Meissner.

Heh? Many people think that Zhang had some downgrades. She also had her flutz, and her double axel was extremely low. She could have easily only gotten credit for a 2/2. And Zhang reportedly skated extremely, extremely slow.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. I'm gonna predict that the pressure won't get to Ashley. My guess is she will go clean. She seems to be the little engine that could whom everyone seems to be overlooking.

My point is, what happened to CoP rewarding the whole package? Zhang, along with Czisny, and Nagasu, has the best spirals and spins in the whole competition, and despite being downgraded on her combination, those aspects should earn her so many positive GOE points. I just really don't get it.
