Did you SEE Canadian Nationals? I'm not a Mira fan by any means, but to her credit her jumps were fully rotated and she landed them cleanly, particularly in the short.

Well, all I can say is this is a major chance for Mirai.
I'm excited but also nervous to see Mirai skate.

Aside from falling and stepping out etc, everyone looks....feeble and uninspired should I say.

Mathman, I absolutely loved Alissa's program. She was a bit tentative but so were all the other girls. Falls aside, I enjoyed every minute of her program.

Are we saying that no other skaters are comparable to Kimmie Meissner in this event? If there are skaters comparable to her ability, did their performances really lack in other areas besides the obvious mistakes on jumps? Was Zhang's program any better or worse than she's skated the rest of the year when she got much higher marks? If yes, then it is just my own bias speaking, but I don't think that is the case. I think there are plent of skaters who could challenge Kimmie, and when they're all working with major mistakes, I think it should be more of tight race.

Zhang got her marks with a cleaner combo. Meissner almost always got docked for her combo. However, Meissner in international competition always got much higher PCS for Zhang and for good reason.

Zhang has lovely spins and spirals. And nice lines. But Zhang's jumps are hardly first rate. Her edging, stroking is juniorish and she doesn't have great speed. Apparently she was even slower.

Meissner does have her issues but her basic skating level is at a higher level than Zhang's. And Meissner's program is really nice.

No, actually I didn't see her skate, and I made my statement only based on what I had seen before. Anyway, I didn't mean to offend her. Just saying tech caller can be extremely tough to lenient depending on situation.
