Serafima Sakhanovich

I know the policy, but it is pretty obvious that given the amount of newcomers, what's needed to be a good consistent skater, and Serafima current level, it's a lost battle. It's like trying to update your old PC vs buying an average new computer. Impractical. :noshake:

You are right that in a year or two she will be replaced, however, the newcomers are not guaranteed to be more succesful than Serafima. Out of four very tallented ladies that were Serafima's age group (Proklova, Sotskova, Medvedeva, Sakhanovich), only two are currently doing well. Serafima struggles and Proklova seems to be gone. There is a number of ladies that will be newly senior eligible, but half of them may not survive the transition to seniors. Plus from established seniors some of them are also not doing that great. Adelina seems to be lacking motivation, Liza is up and down (and more often down), Julia is currently injured, we haven't seen Elena competing yet this season so it is hard to say, Leonova is not doing any better than Serafima.... so from current seniors Evgenia and Anna seem to be doing fine, possibly also Elena, but it is not as if seniors were overcrowded with ladies who are all currently delivering. There are perhaps three that are delivering, a few that were delivering a year or two years ago, but it is not possible to foresee which ladies will be delivering in a year or two.

You are right. You see the whole picture. Problem is, Serafima not taking advantage of the situation, specially as Evgenia and Anna are not shining. It's pretty sad really. :yahoo:

I still wonder why Serafima changed her first coach Pisareva (I guess that's her lastname) With her she won silver medal at FJGP2013 and silver medal at JWC 2014. Then she went to Tutberidze (yes that was good season, the same result if compare with previous), then she came back to Pisareva, and communication was lost. And then Rucavitsyn. May be if Sima stayed with her coach in 2014 all things could go much better :(

Sima did pretty good today - 60.78. I thought she would have got a bit more than that though. Anyway, I think the last time she scored higher than today was at the 2015 World Junior Championships.

She didnt fall and the program was quite decent. Some weak points, but anyways.
The last time she had nothing but disasters. Compared to that, she was pretty good today.

Sima did good today. Her FS wasn't clean but she did good. Her score was 177.35. She was 2nd after Stasya.

How much I wish she still stays with Eteri. Sigh...

Or with Alina Pisarenko, which her first coach, she won 2014 JW silver medal with her, ahead of Zhenya. But I still don't know why she decided to move to Moscow from St. Pete

I'd say her parents are not good with management.
