Sergei Voronov

I think sheepskins are toeloops ;)

Julia has definitely done 'sheepskins' in her translated interviews I've seen but sadly she is only capable of the triple 'sheepskin'. I can't remember what 'greenhouses' are but I think it's a pairs element.

Oddly enough I've come to actual use the term 'rental' which I think is used to describe the effort and action of skating.

Greenhouse = pair skater

... What is the Russian translated as 'two sheepskins in four turns" really supposed to be? ...

The Russian word is тулуп, which is pronounced "tooloop" -- so it makes sense as the Russian parallel for the skating element known in English as "toe loop."

But the meaning of the word is sheepskin, thus the jarring auto-translation.

What could it be?? What early season competitions is Sergei going to be in?

Last year he did a Cup of Russia event, Nebelhorn Trophy, and the Finlandia Trophy before the Grand Prix. I'm not sure if he will compete so much this season (only Liza and Sasha Petrov competed more, I think), but he seems to go to Finlandia pretty much every year.

'Toe-loop' - in Russian it's 'Тулуп', which is word with double meaning, one of them is 'sheepskin coat' :)
'Greenhouse' - in Russian it's 'Парник', which can be pronounced as 'пАрник' or as 'парнИк'. First one means 'pair skater' and the second one means 'greenhouse' :) Since the first version of the word is slang (on Russian), auto-translators translate the word as 'greenhouse'.
'Rental' - in Russian it's 'Прокат'. Same as toeloop, the word with double meaning. Main version is 'rental' (to rent), slang version is 'skate' or 'performance' (to skate). For example: 'Yulia had a clean skate (or performance)' (auto-translators will translate this 'Yulia had a clean rental').

Go Voronov!!!

I'm looking forward to seeing what Buttle and Voronov have come up with. Good for Sergei if he wants to try something new.

The same for me.

I would only wish that his free progam music was more coherent than last season : putting together pieces of 5 (or 6 ?) different songs of different musical types was a bit... too much at the end. But this is only my personnal feeling...

For me it was too much in the beginning - by the end (of the season) I'd got used to it.;)

I don't think Jeff would throw a bunch of random songs together like that...doesn't seem like his style. I thought the novelty of it was interesting, but once is definitely enough. ;)

Well, some things just can't be duplicated, you know.;)

I had a feeling a new interview would come out shortly after Adian's...unfortunately, he isn't going to tell us his music, the tease! Just some rather unhelpful clues:

Hello guys, I have translated the interview and made an article out of it. Hopefully it makes a bit more sense now than the Google translate :)!

I am quite curious now about Sergei's new programs as well! Hopefully he announces the music soon! And I am sure Jeffrey prepared something special :)

Not sure if it's for the test skates (isn't it just for juniors right now?) or training...anyone know? I hope they will still be at the open test skates next month.

I think he was presting his programs there as well. In this picture Sergei is priceless! :laugh2:

Maybe not from different composers but he did Rippon's LP this season. Beatles Medley, 4-5 songs.

Evgenia Medvedeva (at least, I assume that it's really her) said in comments here that Sergei really skated at the junior test skates - https://vk.com/feed?section=comments&w=wall-24972370_108410

What was the need for this, I don't know...
