Some of Sho's comments in the mixed zone after his skate.

I like Sho's comments in the mixed zone. Arriba he has grown up right before our eyes can't believe he is 25, where does the time go.
We have been so lucky to watch him all these years. From a wide eyed junior who could not land that 3A (but would not give up) to a teenager who everyone took notice of competing in his first Olympics and all the in betweens, the good, the bad and the injuries..
He truly is an amazing skater and through the years he has let us fans into his life a little so we feel like we know him.

Forgive me if I sound like an uber but I just can't help myself!:)

Well.said! Remember those first couple years when they would ask him a question and he would get so nervous he could hardly answer?! Or when he appeared on Kenji's Room and was practically choking when he would answer? Still makes me laugh. Today was a far cry from the crazy, nervous teenager -- the little guy who didn't get his 3A or 4T until he was 16 and couldn't master his 3A-Eu-3F like everyone else seemed to do with ease. Participating in 7 World Championships, 2 Olys, and countless other events. So many memories! It will be a long time before another skater like him comes along. I think it was Kurt Browning who called him a skater's skater!

Let's enjoy every moment with him -- whether it is months or (hopefully!) years! :console:

Here are some additional comments from the mixed zone. I watched the video and was so curious as to why he was laughing. Glad to hear he is keeping his sense of humor about the competition. Sounds like Coach Stepen was happy too!

Interesting to see how the judges placed the skaters.

Hi guys, thought you'd be interested in this too:

Fuji Television will be broadcasting the ``All Japan Figure Skating Championships 2023'', which will be held from December 21st (Thursday), in the golden zone for four consecutive nights. Prior to that, the support program ``Fly to All Japan Figures ~ From the ice with love'' (Fuji TV afternoon) is a collaboration between the tournament and the movie ``Fly to Saitama ~From Lake Biwa with love~'' (Fuji TV afternoon show). 11:40-50, etc.) will be broadcast for 5 consecutive days starting December 11th (Monday).

In the program, ``Fly to Saitama ~From Lake Biwa with Love~'', which is ``Flying'' and sweeping the movie world just like figure skating, will be shown in the same way as the movie, using the hometowns of the skaters participating in the All Japan competition as the starting point. Introducing each player with “diss” and “hometown love”. The story explores the appeal of the players from all over the country from a different angle, using the characters that appear in the movie.

The five players who will be introduced are Shoma Uno, Kazuki Tomono, Mao Shimada, Shun Sato, and Kaori Sakamoto. GACKT, who plays Rei Asami, who plays the lead role in the movie, and Fumi Nikaido, who plays Momomi Dannoura, make special appearances, and Norika Fujiwara, who plays the mayor of Kobe, provides the narration. It is truly a program filled with love that fully explores the ``Fly to Saitama'' world.

Oh... this is kind of interesting. The 5 skaters mentioned here each represents a different hometown and prefecture too, so it would kind of match the concept of the movie I guess?

Shoma Uno - Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture
Kazuki Tomono - Osaka, Osaka Prefecture
Kaori Sakamoto - Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture
Shun Sato - Saitama, Saitama Prefecture (!!! and the movie is called Fly to Saitama)
Mao Shimada - Uji/Kyoto, Kyoto Prefecture

Lots of smiles today at practice! I love smiley Shooms! Shoma, you have a lot to smile about. Best of luck in the free. Exactly 6 more hours. Sitting on the ice in starfish mode?

Some fun facts about Shoma and GPF, courtesy by RutrumusM on Twitter:

The long gap really is more impressive when you think about how Shoma only missed qualifying for GPF once and the other time he didn't medal at GPF was because the event is cancelled. So he's been a mainstay at the GPF podium through a couple different eras.

Congratulations to Prince Shoma kun on his silver medal! Well done! His free skate is so mesmerizing, it makes me feel like I'm in a trance! I am so proud of him! Not a perfect skate by any means, but it didn't matter. There was no disruption to the beautiful flow. I loved that one of the announcers said you forget how many quads he's done, because they are so seamlessly woven into the choreography. And the Grand Prix statistics that are listed above are nothing short of amazing. ALWAYS first in my heart, no matter what the color of the medal.
