Correction on daphenaxa's previous post of Vainglory congratulating Shoma: They were congratulating him on winning the Olympic Silver medal. He's apparently one of the "top of the class in the entire nation" per these threads from yawning_shoma :

His money prize goes to kakin (paying for in-game items)

A Twitter user says 'work till the company whose game you play congratulates you.'

Thank you for these fun Shoma gaming tidbits! I play a lot of games myself, so I find this side of Shoma really amusing.

Thanks, xeyra!

Poor Itsuki, he's been interviewed so much that he looks like he himself lacks sleep. On the other hand, he's spilling the beans on Shoma, so can't complain.

I must say, and this is slightly off-topic but isn't this Olympics going so well? The pairs, the men, dance, and now the ladies... the competitions have been pretty good. I need to catch up with everything once I have time, the timing of the events in the middle of the week and during the peak of my workday isn't great for me. I only wish they didn't take down everything that they can. Anyway, I don't believe in jinxing even if the ladies are still doing their FS tomorrow (those women are mostly strong-willed), so it's okay.:hap57:

I know right? It was really good, like REALLY GOOD! I didn't have any dream podium but the results (except the ladies) made sense. I don't know if this is some treat before something bad, I hope it's not, but we cannot control anything so at least enjoy this moment. Besides, the Olympics has been good and bad alternatively:

1992 - bad
1994 - good
1998 - not too good for men, but good for ladies but Michelle didn't win gold
2002 - wonderful for men, good for ladies (except Michelle)
2006 - Horrible except for the winners
2010 - good
2014 - Bye
2018 - it was ok

Statistically speaking, Beijing will not be too good. Be prepared lol

Hi everyone! I hope it's okay to do a lil introductory post. I'm here essentially because I accidentally let Shoma Uno steal my heart after the Olympic's short program. I've never been someone to care about the Olympics or figure skating in general so I didn't even watch the SP when it was live, I honestly just fell in love with him from seeing one tweet with a pic of his cute face and I've been a disaster ever since. I've spent every waking moment since then watching his programs, looking at pictures of him, reading translated interviews, completely losing my mind when he became an Olympic silver medalist (!!!!!!), etc, etc. Basically I can't shut up about him to everyone around me so I finally had to give in and register for this forum so I can go through 500+ pages of people like me talking about adoring him like I do. I look forward to hopefully learning more about the sport in general since I've had so much fun the past few weeks, and most importantly letting Shoma own my entire heart and soul for the rest of his career :luv17:

Welcome, bangtaen, you've come to a very cozy and warm place, I am sure you'll enjoy it. The symptoms you described are all so familiar... Shoma virus is incurable, alas. :dbana:

Welcome, bangtaen, to the fanfest and the addiction that is Shomachka, Shomita, or the Winter Prince! Your symptoms are common here, lol. So impressed that you read all 500 pages in such a short amount of time. Let's all cheer for Shoma together! On to the gala and Worlds! [emoji16]

My wish gala program is La Vie en Rose, but since my vote doesn't matter, it's likely going to be This Town. Will it be the dark blue shirt, the true blue shirt, the gray printed shirt, the white shirt, the ehem short black shirt, or an Uno shirt? We're banking on an untucked shirt at least. ;-)

Welcome! Sounds like a bad case of Shoma fever to me. Ha! That's exactly what I did was read the whole fan fest. Except there certainly weren't 500 pages at that time. I think there were more like 60 pages. Seems like quite a few more people have fallen under the spell of the Prince since then...So now we have to wait until the gala - and we have the suspense of wondering what the gala program will be (I want La Vie En Rose but assume it will be This Town), and will he wear the world's shortest shirt.

ETA -- Oops, sorry! I sound like an echo of Latremu's post!

Welcome, bangtaen! Post often! Together we suffer the Prince fever happily. Very impressive that you caught up to 500+ pages:eek: back then I read perhaps 50+ pages and lurked daily until I decided to sign up because I have no friends to gush about Shomachka with. It was Buenos Aires Hora Cero that made me fall hard. I still rewatch them so often until today.

Shoma will skate to See You Again ... again :sad21:

https://twitter.com/yawning_shoma/status/966562524786298880

I don't mind, it's my fave EX of Shomachka's

I love See You Again the most among his EX so this is golden. I want either the white or the black shirt, and may 4B make appearance again.

The reason why he seemed to be calm when the score came and turned out he was silver.
around 5:00
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfTC2rzbAoM

he watched all performances before him and calculated according to his performance and predicted he would be probably second.

And then, he continues of course he feels pressure, anxiety, tension and so on. But its always the case in every competition and those which shoma felt at Olympics was the same as his other competitions...

This has been my favorite too! I love how Akiko was so surprised to find out when he said he watched all the final group's skate, and has been doing so since he came up internationally. She kept saying it's unheard of! I guess usually people will be too mentally distracted to have watched others performance, but not Shoma, he just said, I have nothing else to do and was kind of bored, so...

Shizuka is also surprised about that.
Not so many skaters see others performances since they could affect own jump images or so.
(Sorry, I cant find the video now.)
