I like Shoma's style of skating and I can see he is improving his jumps these days. So I am quite confident about his future. He will do well at GPF and Japan nationals!

Congrats Shoma!! I would be very excited to see you at GPF! :yay:

According to the sub of the video, she said that it happens “often”, not “always”. the nuance is slightly different, I think.

Thanks, yhmafan! I think these are very wise words from Higuchi sensei. She helped to ease his student's tension and guided him to see things positively and realistically.

Congrats to Shoma! Good luck in Barcelona! @mikaboo love the photo of Shoma and Phillippe!

Stuff I like, GP 2015, part I by Morozombie. From such a Takahashi fan, no surprise Shoma is in 'the best' list :)

"4) Shoma Uno, Skate America LP (Nessun Dorma)
Yes, it's been done before: the baleful fiddling of Vanessa Mae's Nessun Dorma used in a figure skating program. But when it works, it really does work. Of all the Nessun Dorma figure skating programs out there, Shoma Uno's reminds me of Shizuka Arakawa's version the most. Just as the music of Nessun Dorma lent a sense of warmth and gravitas to Ms. Arakawa (whose skating I've otherwise found to be rather cool and distant in her competitive days), Nessun Dorma makes the diminutive Mr. Uno skate like he's ten feet tall. The sweeping music of Nessun Dorma allows Mr. Uno to show off his long, flowing edges, his innate musicality, and it perhaps even distracts one's attention away from the oft-clunky free leg off the jumps. And if nothing else, that badass cantilever Mr. Uno does during that vincero is a moment of Total Win that undoubtedly has the judges reaching for the upper range of Program Components Scores. This performance would've won Mr. Uno the gold medal at Skate America if I were judging!"

From the Daisuke Takahashi Road to Sochi Facebook page

DAISUKE TAKAHASHI has words of praise for SHOMA UNO while he talks at the De' Longhi media conference today in Tokyo:
"One of my favorite skaters who has so rapidly grown recently.
Growing up from a boy to a young man, he compares favorably with other senior men not only in skating but also in technique.
Especially, I like his expression: the way he uses his arms, body movement...
I hope he will grow more and compete head to head with Hanyu"

New video of Shoma leaving for GPF! He said that he doesn't feel real that he is going to senior GPF, and that even if he places well but is unsatisfactory with his performances it's useless, so he hopes to finish his programs with a smile! ;)

Also as always, it includes many many adorable shots of Shoma as a cute kid~ First time I saw footage of him starting high school!

I like that he really wants the performances to be good. Placements will come. Just focus on showing what you can do,
Shoma! :agree:

Ahh I love all the videos of him when he was young so much! I've been following his career ever since I found the early videos of him on youtube, before he was on the JGP and sometimes I forget just how little he was and how much he's grown.

I wish him lots of luck at the GPF and I really hope he's able to put to clean programs together and he can show us the great performance of his FS that we didn't get to see in France.

What a great video! Thanks for sharing. Shoma is just adorable. And we got another "happy face" after winning the Novice title (just kidding)

:cheer: GOOD LUCK, LEPRECHAUN!!! :cheer:

You are a leprechaun for a reason, so please find pots of gold (GPF medals)!!!

Lol, he's actually a leprechaun because he's tiny and wears a green costume in his FS, but the gold thing is also relevant. :agree:

I think he can with his FP being one of my favourites this season and he had performed it so well previously. I was surprised with his fall on the quad but he was smiling so much after his performance and in the K&C too! Looks like a great relationship with him and his coach; lovely to see.

video of Shoma from a spectator. It really shows his speed and the ease of his moves :) lovely performance. Too bad for the quad but I am still hopeful for a podium finish <3
I honestly think he can make it to the 3rd place. The gap with Jin is so small, he can beat him in the FP. Jin is an incomplete skater, unlike Shoma who not only has more of a complete package, but has always seem more "at ease" with his FS. I'm quite confident for that kid. :agree: A clean or near-clean skate should do the trick. Of course, clean will be better, lol!
