Thanks a lot for the translation, Rainbow! It was funny to read of the flying kiss pose. Well, of course Sota looked a bit unconvincing and Kushida parodied him, if they integrated the kiss just before the axel. Axels don't seem to be an easy element for Sota, so no wonder his mind was elsewhere already. I actually thought the pose was chosen just in order for him to check his hand, as it came so close after his donut spin where he cuts his hand sometimes. Good to hear the boys had lots of fun at the rink.
I know the videos of the songs that are discussed here are on YT, but I'm not much into Jpop, so I'll skip them for now. Are they in Japanese or in English, I wonder?
Aww, hard to imagine Sota bawling his eyes out during a movie. He's a sensitive soul
@KiraraChin , I don't have IG so I haven't heard. Good lord. Not the slightest idea what the boy is thinking, posting scary stuff like this. Apart from sticking out his tongue at the annoying gaijin who always writes moralizing letters about the value of consistency and keeping it safe (if he gets them, that is). Because 'what's life without a little risk', right? It sounds like such a good strategy to do Shoma's/Nathan's jump types without half of their success rate with other jumps, or their step levels... and without any competition-ready quad combo... and without any certainty this won't mess up his one really good triple, the 3F. I think his Challenge Cup 3F had some deduction from the judges, I think a ! . He didn't use to get those for flips, so it looks like a result of the 4F training. Just what he needs to show the judges, that none of his jumps are steady by now.
And it sure is a lot of fun to test how much strain the bolts in Sota's ankle can take. No idea what his coaches are thinking. This had better be his own idea, not one sanctioned by his training center. Because it sure is a dumb one.
So glad I can write this here in Sota's thread. If I posted half of what I have to say in the comments on Sota's Twitter, he'd probably block me in an instant.

I'd hate for him to go back to coaching himself because some coaches, used to the mentally super strong Shoma, don't know what to do with a brilliant adult male skater who headcases.
The ominous clouds are thickening... If it *is* Swan Lake and if Sota headcases again next season, especially if he bombs Nationals again, you know what it will look like to everyone but insiders: it'll look like he grew desperate enough to copy Sena, hoping the same FS will bring him the same success. And unless he skates to the evil character, then what the bleep. Sota is no girl and no swan. He's made huge progress in the flexibility/body movement department in the last season, that is true, but IMO Hanyu is the only one who would be believeable with any swan-centric part of this ballet. And I hate the warhorse parts of pretty much anything, Roxanne, R&J, Carmen, and swans are up there too. Good grief. I'll keep hoping for a pleasant surprise but I'm very sceptical at the moment. That music has been beaten to death, what new and breathtaking can one create out of it these days?
