Stefania Yakovleva

Stefania is due to be back in action for her first competition of 2024 at Skate Helena in Belgrade today.

The Junior Ladies SP is due to start today at 07:45:00 CET (06:45:00 GMT / 08:45:00 EET). So 1 hour from now.

Stefania will be the 10th skater to start. So, fifth and penultimate skater to go in Group 2.

And that is as much as I can tell you, because the Time Schedule PDF's don't work.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

Skate Helena Junior Ladies SP: Results; Protocols

Stefania finished 3rd out of 36 in the SP, with a score of 50.38.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch Skate Helena.

Looking at the Protocols, it was not a good start to the programme. She didn't fall, but the liens for the first 3 elements are still not pretty.

The first element was the Triple Flip-Triple Toe. Unfortunately, the second part of the combination was under-rotated. Consequently, it got -2 from four Judges; and -1 from Judge 5. It also got the biggest GOE hit of the programme at -1.06 but, because it had by far the highest Base Value, it nevertheless remained as the highest scoring element of the programme.

The second element, the Triple Lutz, was downgraded. It got -5 from all five Judges. It also got the second biggest GOE hit of the programme at -1.05 and, because it was already had the lowest Base Value, it remained as the lowest scoring element of the programme.

The third element was the Flying Sit Spin. I don't know what went wrong, but my guess is that it must have been wonkey. it got -1 from three Judges; 0 from Judge 4; and +1 from Judge 5. It also got the third biggest GOE hit og the programme at -0.20, which made it the second lowest scoring element of the programme.

After that, though, it was all sunshine and flowers. There were no more negative numbers at all, and only one 0. Indeed, when you take out the penultimate element, which got the 0 and four +1's, nearly all the Judges marks were +2 or +3. Indeed, the Step Sequence got two +2's and three +3's. it also got the highest GOE of the programme at +0.88.

Stefania is 2.00 points behind 2nd position, Olivia LENGYELOVA (SVK), and 4.85 points ahead of 4th position, Elina GOIDINA (EST). She is also 4.75 points behind the leader after the SP, Chiara MINIGHINI (ITA).

Stefania is in a good position going into the FS. She has a decent gap behind her, and is within striking distance of 2nd position. With a good Free Skate, she could claim the Silver Medal.

So, let's hope she does have a good Free Skate!

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

The Junior Ladies FS is due to start at 08:00:00 CET (07:00:00 GMT / 09:00:00 EET). So 1 hour from now.

Stefania will be the 34th skater to start. So, fourth skater to go in Group 6 (and antepenultimate skater to go in the segment).

And that is as much as I can tell you, because the Time Schedule PDF's don't work.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

Skate Helena Junior Ladies: Results

No video uploaded yet 😞

Stefania finished 3rd out of 36 in the FS, with a score of 97.58. This meant that she climbed to 2nd position overall, with a score of 147.96.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to watch Skate Helena.

Looking at the Protocols, although she finished 3rd in the segment, Stefania actually had a bit of a nightmare of a Free Skate.

She started off with a Triple Flip-Double Axel-Double Axel done in sequence. The Triple Flip didn't have a clear edge. Mixed opinions from the Judges, though, with Judge 4 giving -2; the Judges either side of her giving -1; Judge 1 giving 0; and Judge 2 giving +1. it also got -0.35 in GOE, but because it had by far the highhest Base Value, it was still the highest scoring element of the programme.

The second element, the Triple Lutz-Double Toe, went much better. it got +1 from four Judges, and +2 from Judge 2. it also got the second highest GOE of the programme at +0.59. And because it had the second highest BAse Value, it remained as the scind highest scoring element.

Then the problems returned for the third element. The Triple Flip was under-rotated and didn't have a clear edge. The Judges had varying degrees of not liking it, with -5 from Judge 4; -4 from Judge 1; -3 from two Judges; and -2 from Judge 2. It also got the third biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.41.

The next 3 elements actually went well. But then she reached the three jumps that were grouped together in the second half of the programme. And they did not go well at all.

The Triple Lutz that started this set of jumps was landed on the quarter, but she fell. Unsurprisingly, this resulted in -5 from all five Judges. It also resulted in the biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -2.95.

The Triple Toe that followed was under-rotated. It got -5 from Judge 5; -4 from three Judges; and -3 from Judge 2. It also got the fourth biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.34.

The Triple Salchow that completed this set of jumps was also under-rotated, but she fell. Like the Lutz, it got -5 from all five Judges. It also got the second biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.72.

Thankfully, the last two elements went better. Indeed, the final element, the Change Foot Combination Spin, was the best element of the programme. It got +2 from four Judges, and +3 from Judge 1. It also got the highest GOE of the programme, at +0.70.

Stefania finished the Free Skate 2.29 points behind 2nd position, Elina GOIDINA (EST) and 7.07 points ahead of 4th position, Chiara MINIGHINI (ITA).

Overall, Stefania finished 13.75 points behind 1st position, Olivia LENGYELOVA (SVK), and 2.32 points ahead of 3rd position, Minighini.

This competition is the perfect example of why it is beneficial to have a hard programme. Only three skaters had programmes which had a Base Value of over 50. And those three skaters finished in the Top 3 positions in the FS:

  • Olivia Lengyelova had the highest Base Value and went clean, so she won.
  • Like Stefania, Elina Goidina had two falls, but because the rest of her programme was clean, she finished the FS in second.
  • Stefania had a nightmare skate, but because she was the only skater other than Lengyelova to have a Base Value of over 55, she still managed to finish 3rd in the FS.

It is such a good strategy to have. If you have a good skate, you're laughing. And if you don't, it can save you.

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

Just wanted to let you know that there was an interview with Stefania today on the Limassol based website Action In Sports:

https://www.actioninsports.com/stef...nto-tis-kyprou-sti-diethni-skini-tou-patinaz/

It's in Greek, but there is a button to translate the page into English (or Hebrew, or Russian, or Ukrainian).

In it, Stefania talks about the upcoming Youth Olympics, her goals over the next few years, and also the challenges that she has faced this season. And there have been a lot of challenges.

It's really interesting. And well worth a few minutes of your time to read.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST IN GANGWON, STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

Just posting to let you know that the Opening Ceremony for the Youth Olympics is being held this morning.

I don't know whether Stefania will be taking part in the ceremony, but there are only three athletes representing Cyprus. And given that the Alpine Skiing starts on Sunday (I'm not sure which races the two skiers are taking part in, so they could be starting any time from Sunday to Friday! :drama:), whereas Stefania's campaign doesn't start until the following Sunday, I would say there is a good chance that Stefania will be taking part. Asuming she is already in Korea.

The Opening Ceremony is due to start at 20:00:00 KST (11:00:00 GMT / 13:00:00 EET / 14:00:00 MSK). So 4 hours from now.

If Stefania was at the Opening Ceremony, I didn't see her. Mind you, with how many athletes were there, it would be hard to spot one person. Especially when they are part of a small team.

Although, I'm confused. The commentators said that for the Parade Of Nations, the flags would be carried in by one male and one female athlete, unless all the team members were the same gender. So, when the Cyrpiot team was made up of 1 boy and 2 girls, how come the female Alpine Skier, Andrea Loizidou, was the sole flagbearer?

I was expecting the flag to be carried in by the male Alpine Skier, Andreas Kasiouris, and probably Stefania. Let's face it, when the country is competing in two sports, it would look better having an athlete from each of them.

But, hey. Although it would be nice to be a flagbearer in the Opening Ceremony, it's the competition that matters.

Seven years ago, Daniella Vanessa Ipsarides had the honour of becoming the first skater to represent Cyprus at the European Youth Olympic Festival (in Erzurum, Turkey).

Tomorrow morning, Stefania Yakovleva will have the honour of becoming the first skater to represent Cyprus at the Youth Olympic Games (in Gangneung, Korea).

The Junior Ladies SP is due to start tomorrow at 16:10:00 KST (07:10:00 GMT / 09:10:00 EET / 10:10:00 MSK). So 10 hours from now.

Stefania will be the 5th skater to start. So, fifth and penultimate skater to go in Group 1.

The Group 1 Warm-Up is due to start at 16:10:00 KST (07:10:00 GMT / 09:10:00 EET / 10:10:00 MSK). So 10 hours from now.

Stefania is due to start at 16:41:30 KST (07:41:30 GMT / 09:41:30 EET / 10:41:30 MSK). So 10h 31m from now.

I'm afraid that I have some bad news.

The Time Schedule PDF has been updated, and Stefania has withdrawn from the Youth Olympics.

I'm gutted for her. To compete at these Youth Olympics has been her goal for a very long time. When her website was created last year, the most prominant thing on it was that she would be competing at Gangwon 2024.

She was just so unfortunate that it came around at a difficult time for her, when she was struggling with injury as well as the effects of growing up.

Well, Gangwon 2024 isn't happening, and I am not sure about Junior Worlds now either. But, hopefully she will be back to full fitness in time for next season.

Before I go any further, I want to apologise for missing these. Although I visit the Cyprus Mail's website every day, I only ever look at the "Cyprus" and "Opinion" sections of their website. I never look at the other sections. But, after being caught out like this, I will in future.

On Tuesday 30th January, the Cyprus Mail (the island's daily English language newspaper), published this feature about Stefania in the "Life & Style" section of it's website:

https://cyprus-mail.com/2024/01/30/cyprus-shining-star-on-ice/

As it refers to the Short Programme being held "today", and the Free Skate "on Tuesday", I suspect that the feature was originally published on Sunday 28th January, probably in the "Living" supplement. But because it was Sunday and because the Cyprus Mail doesn't have a Monday edition, it didn't get put up on the website until Tuesday.

It was written by Cyprus based German journalist Sara Douedari, and it was very interesting. I learnt some things about Stefania that I didn't know previously.

Just as a side note, in the past few months, the Cyprus Mail has started putting some of the phrases in their stories into bold to make them stand out. And this really grates with me. It's like canned laughter on TV programmes, when the producers are essentially telling you when you should be finding things funny.

On the next day, Wednesday 31st January, Stefania was also mentioned in this Press Release in the "Business And Finance" section:

https://cyprus-mail.com/2024/01/31/boc-continues-to-support-islands-outstanding-young-athletes/

Basically, it was about the Cyprus Olympic Committee taking the participants of it's “Reward Scheme for Young Athletes under 18 years old, as emerging talents in sport” to the headquarters of one of the Committee's sponsors, the Bank Of Cyprus. Stefania is one of the seven athletes in the scheme, but wasn't able to go to the bank due to her being in Korea for the Youth Olympics.

Of course, we know that Stefania unfortunately withdrew from the Youth Olympics. And on the day after it finished, Friday 2nd February, she posted an album on Instagram of some photos of her in Korea:

https://www.instagram.com/_superstefa_/p/C22Jn_rpxhM/

The second photo shows us why she didn't get to compete.

All the best to Stefania with her recovery, and we look forward to seeing her next season.

Just letting you know that there was a very interesting full-length interview with Stefania in today's Cyprus Mail:

https://cyprus-mail.com/2024/07/12/isnt-if-you-can-survive-in-figure-skating-you-can-do-anything/

Unfortunately, there are no hints about her plans for the Junior GP Series.

But there are two things I want to pick out from it.

Firstly, she talks about her injury issues from last season. But, the encouraging thing is that she says "Now I have almost recovered".

Secondly, she mentions that a company is building a rink in the Limassol region. She then adds "I would really like the project to be completed and the local authorities to support the initiative, if there was a skating rink in Cyprus I could live at home".

Now that would be great news all round!

Anyway, back to Stefania. I know I said it in my last post in this thread, but I am really looking forward to seeing her in action again. Hopefully it will not be long until we find out when and where that will be.

After a long wait (which was extended by a couple of weeks), Stefania is finally back in action at the Junior GP in Ankara, Turkey.

The Junior Ladies SP is due to start at 10:30:00 TRT (07:30:00 GMT / 08:30:00 BST / 10:30:00 MSK). So 3 hours from now.

Stefania will be the 34th skater to start. So, fifth and penultimate skater to go in Group 6 (and penultimate skater to go in the segment).

The Group 6 Warm-Up is due to start at 14:26:30 TRT (11:26:30 GMT / 12:26:30 BST / 14:26:30 MSK). So 6h 56m from now.

Stefania is due to start at 14:57:00 TRT (11:57:00 GMT / 12:57:00 BST / 14:57:00 MSK). So 7h 27m from now.

Stefania finished 18th out of 35 in the SP, with a score of 45.60.

Here is what I wrote about her in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

Since Ted and Mark were talking about twins in relation to Nadia Festić (BIH), two of my Cypriot girls have twins (Marilena Kitromilis and Laura Farran). But in both cases, their twin is a boy who doesn't do figure skating.

And speaking of my Cypriot girls - this group marks the return of Stefania Yakovleva!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

Part of Stefania just crept into camera shot doing a spin just after the start of the Warm-Up.

When they did focus on her later in the Warm-Up, she did two jumps, but unfortunately the landings weren't great on either of them.

She is wearing a red one-shouldered dress, with white lace (Lefkara lace?) over her right shoulder. And she has gold armbands.

Can't wait to finally see her in action again!

CaroLiza_fan

Here is what I wrote when Stefania was being introduced:

MY BABY GIRL!!!!!!

(OK, so Stefania's one of the older Junior skaters now. But she'll always be my baby girl! ;) )

Sy and I are here, cheering our gladiator on!!!

:cheer: ALL THE BEST STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

And here is what I wrote about her programme:

Oi! Don't go out of focus on my girl!

Phew! It was just an arty transition from the camera that was showing her getting into position, to the camera that was showing the start of her programme.

Lovely 3 Flip to start with.

Fall on the next jump, the 3 Loop. So, wasn't able to put on the planned combination.

Lovely Flying camel spin. And so was combination spin that followed.

Next jump, Double Axel, lovely.

I see she's joined the cartwheel club. 🤸‍♀️

Lost it on the sit spin, and had to put her hand down.

Ending section good.

Simone the Sloth is back with her!

I thought she looked sad, but then she smiled and waved.

Into 18th position.

There were mistakes. But the stuff that went well looked good! Which bodes well for later in the season.

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

One of our Polish members, @Karoltyna, made a very concise comment, which I am guessing was about the fall:

Our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19, commented this:

Stefania. Good costume to go with a good program. Shame about the combo. Great cartwheel. Good skate.

On the subject of cartwheels, @TallyT in Australia commented:

I really really and sick of cartwheels. To be honest, I was sick of them after the third.

To which I replied:

I know this has come up in relation to one of my kids, but I have never liked cartwheels in figure skating. 🤸‍♀️

I'm old fashioned. I take the position that if anything other than the blade touches the ice, it is a fall and gets a deduction.

Plus, can you imagine if it went wrong?

CaroLiza_fan

Stefania is currently 0.69 points behind 17th position, Emilia NEMIROVSKY (USA), and 0.84 points ahead of 19h position, Lena EKKER (HUN). All three of them are part of a group where 10 skaters are covered by 5.69 points, stretching from Elizabeth NOU (EST) in 14th position, 1.51 points ahead of Stefania, down to Alice SMITH (GBR) in 23rd position, 4.18 points behind Stefania.

In a group that is this big and this close, anything can happen. And with being slap bang in the middle of it, Stefania could easily go up positions, but she could also easily go down positions.

However, if she has a particularly good Free Skate, there is the possibility that Stefania could break out of the group and maybe even challenge for a Top 12 position. Aftrer all, the skater in 12th position after the SP, Sabina ALIEVA (AZE), is only 5.42 points ahead of Stefania.

So, let's hope that Stefania does have a good Free Skate!

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

The Junior Ladies FS is due to start at 16:35:00 TRT (13:35:00 GMT / 14:35:00 BST / 16:35:00 MSK). So 8 hours from now.

Stefania will be the 18th skater to start. So, first skater to go in Group 4.

The Group 4 Warm-Up is due to start at 19:08:30 TRT (16:08:30 GMT / 17:08:30 BST / 19:08:30 MSK). So 10h 33m from now.

Stefania is due to start at 19:15:00 TRT (16:15:00 GMT / 17:15:00 BST / 19:15:00 MSK). So 10h 33m from now.

Stefania finished 16th out of 35 in the FS, with a score of 89.61. This meant that she climbed to 15th position overall, with a score of 135.21.

Here is what I wrote about her in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

Stefania is wearing her team jacket, but you can see a beautiful royal blue dress sticking out from under it.

Ach! The camera cut away from her just as she was taking off for a jump!

Oooh, saw Stefania with her jacket off going through a shot of somebody else doing a jump. That is a really beautiful dress! And when we saw her going through the shot again, we saw it has a fancy cut-out at the back.

The next time the camera focussed on Stefania, she was talking to her coaches.

So unfortunately, we didn't see her doing any elements on camera during the Warm-Up.

Everybody else is leaving the ice, but Stefania stays on because she is first to skate in this group.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

And here is what I wrote about her programme:

Was that the announcer talking again after Stefania got into position, or was it dialogue?

Ach, fall on first jump, rhe Triple Flip.

Not a great landing on second jump, the Triple Loop.

But the combination jump she did next was great!!!

And so was one that followed!!!

Flying Camel Spin and Choreographic Sequence good

The third of her combination jumps was great too!

Not a great landing on her next individual jump.

Funny choreography at the start of "Gimme Gimme Gimme"

I missed the next element because I was smiling at the dancing she just did!

The ending section was good.

I know I am biased because I love Stefania and I love ABBA, but I absolutely loved that programme!!!

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

Mark and Ted full of praise for her jumping.

I still can't get over how good the combination jumps were. Such a pity that the individual jumps didn't go as well.

It's hard to read how the three of them are feeling. But if that sloth was real, it wouldn't be able to breathe because she is hugging it so tight!

She goes into 4th in the FS, and 2nd overall.

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

A few other people commented. The first was our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19:

Stefania. Pretty blue dress. Some really good jumps and good choreographic moments. :party2::party2:

Italian member @bartlebooth looked at the whole programme, saying:

Yakovleva had a rough start, but then recovered very well.

While @Skating91 simply said:

Nice effort from Stefania.

@Skating91 posted another comment straight after this comment. But I think it was about the skater that was on next, because Stefania's fall was on the Flip, not the Loop.

Stefania finished the Free Skate 0.51 points behind 15th position, Alice SMITH (GBR), and 1.98 points ahead of 17th position, Riria KONO (JPN). The three of them are the bottom three skaters in a group where 8 skaters are covered by 6.97 points, stretching up to Megan WOODLEY (CAN) in 10th position, 4.99 points ahead of Stefania.

Overall, Stefania finished 2.62 points behind 14th position, Darja TRUBITSON (FIN), and 2.49 points ahead of 16th position, Nela ŠNEBERGEROVÁ (CZE).

Well, I said in the SP report that there was the potential for a lot of movement within the group, and there was. And Stefania and the girl that finished directly ahead of her in the FS, Alice Smith, were able to take advantage.

I should point out something though. There was a reason that Alice and Stefania moved up. Only the skaters that finished in the Top 6 of the FS had programmes with a higher Base Value than Alice. And only one additional skater had a programme with a higher Base Value than Stefania.

It's just a pity about that fall on the Flip, because Stefania would have finished a position higher in the FS if she had got it. But, it is hard to tell if this would have made any difference to her overall position.

On the whole, she did a good job in climbing up.

This was Stefania's only Junior GP this season, but I look forward to whenever it is that we next see her in action.

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

Today is exactly 2 weeks after Marilena's birthday. Which can only mean one thing. It is her housemate's birthday!

:cheer: HAPPY 17th BIRTHDAY STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

I hope she is having an enjoyable day, and that the coming year is a good one for her, both on and off the ice.

And it won't be long until we see Stefania on the ice again, because she is joining team-mates Marilena and Olivia in competing at the Tallinn Trophy in two weeks from now.

In the meantime, I hope she has a lovely birthday.

After the joy of Oliviia's triumph and the heartbreak of Marilena's meltdown, it is the turn of Stefania to get her Tallinn Trophy campaign underway today.

The Junior Ladies SP is due to start at 09:30:00 EET (07:30:00 GMT / 09:30:00 MSK). So 1 hour from now.

Stefania will be the 27th skater to start. So, sixth and final skater to go in Group 5 (and sixth skater to go after the second resurfacing).

The Group 5 Warm-Up is due to start at 12:25:48 EET (10:25:48 GMT / 12:25:48 MSK). So 3h 55m from now.

Stefania is due to start at 13:01:18 EET (11:01:18 GMT / 13:01:18 MSK). So 4h 31m from now.

Tallinn Trophy Junior Ladies SP: Results; Protocols

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ytShdhy52J0

Stefania finished 8th out of 45 in the SP, with a score of 50.68.

Here is what I wrote about her in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

I played catch-up until just after Iida got her scores, and then jumped forward to the live coverage of the Group 5 Warm-Up, because my kid Stefania is in it! (I'll watch the remaining two skaters during the next resurfacing).

When she was coming out of the gate, Stefania was wearing her team jacket. But the next time I saw her, it was gone and we saw her red dress in it's full glory.

You know, it was almost as if Stefania had been reading my Warm-Up comments the past few days complaining about the skaters being too far from the camera, because any time she was coming up to this end of the rink, she did so quite close to the camera, and it meant we got a good look at her.

For the first part of the Warm-Up, she was doing warming up exercises.

As for elements, we saw her do two jumps at the far end of the rink. The first was beautiful.

The second, well, she fell on it, and then near tripped when she got up.

But, we got to see a beautiful Layback Spin in the middle of the rink at the end of the Warm-Up.

Apologies that it has taken me until 2 skaters into the group to get this up. The computer is being a pain in the backside this morning. And a popup has just appeared that explains why - Windows Update has been running in the background. That's 2 days in a row it has done that!

CaroLiza_fan

And here is what I wrote about her programme:

First part of combination jump beautiful. Second part nearly beautiful too but had a hand down.

Individual jump beautiful. So was spin straight aterwards

And the next one too.

Beautiful jump, but the exit didn't work for me. But, that's just my opinion,

Ah, was that a fall or part of the choreography?

Cartwheel. 🤸‍♀️

Ending section was all good.

Stefania accompanied by her faithful friend 🦥 and Sergei.

Both of the humans do double waves. Not sure what the hand signal Stefania then did meant, but she was smiling while doing it anyway!

They were chatting in Russian the whole way through the replays, so I don't know what they were talking about.

Both of them looked disappointed with the scores.

She goes into 6th position.

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

Stefania is currently 2.59 points behind 7th position, Josephine LEE (USA), and 0.43 points ahead of 9th position, Chiara SCHOELL (CHE). Stefania is at the head of a group where 8 skaters are covered by 4.39 points, stretching down to Natasa JERMOLICKA (LAT) in 15th position.

Josephine Lee is the bottom skater of a group where 3 skaters are covered by 0.84 points, stretching up to Mia KALIN (USA) in 5th position, 3.43 points ahead of Stefania.

With being at the head of a group this big, Stefania is in a precarious position. If she doesn't have a great skate, or if the girls behind her do, she could drop down the order. HOWEVER, if she can jump the gap to the group ahead of her, there is the potential of getting into the Top 5. There may even be the possibility of getting higher, but it would probably require mistakes from other skaters.

So, let's hope that Stefania has a good Free Skate and can can get as high as possible!

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

The Junior Ladies FS is due to start at 11:30:00 EET (09:30:00 GMT / 11:30:00 MSK). So 3 hours from now.

Stefania will be the 38th skater to start. So, fifth and penultimate skater to go in Group 7 (and fifth skater to go after the third resurfacing).

The Group 7 Warm-Up is due to start at 16:47:00 EET (14:47:00 GMT / 16:47:00 MSK). So 8h 17m from now.

Stefania is due to start at 17:21:50 EET (15:21:50 GMT / 17:21:50 MSK). So 8h 51m from now.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

Unfortunately, so as to avoid the video being zapped due to a copyright claim, the YouTube channel owners have had to mute the music. 😞

Stefania finished 6th out of 41 in the FS, with a score of 102.85. This meant that she climbed to 6th position overall, with a score of 153.53.

Here is what I wrote about her in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

I have no idea how we have managed to get back on schedule after the extra resurfacing and Warm-Up earlier. But, somehow, we have.

Right, we have now reached the stage where I have a vested interest in what is happening.

Stefania third out of the gate.

Very fast spin in the middle of the ice. Watch you don't drill a hole in it! :p

She's taken her jacket off now. That is a really beautiful blue dress.

Beautiful combination jump just opposite the camera.

And beautiful individual jump near to the camera.

Did another in the same place, and fell. (It would be ironic if she had fallen on her own ruts).

But did another bautiful jump at the third go on the same spot.

Went past the camera a couple of times lining up jumps, but they were out of shot.

Beautiful Bielmann Spin right at the end of the Warm-Up.

She's looking good! Hope that continues for the actual programme.

Here is what I wrote when she was being introduced:

Here we go. Sweaty palms time for me.

Here is what I wrote about her programme:

This sounds like "Mamma Mia". It is, but it's not ABBA. 😞

Beautiful jump to start with.

Combination jump beautiful too.

She's come alive with the music!

Another beautiful combination.

And another!

Beautiful spin.

I always get nervous when somebody skates to "The Winner Takes It All". But, in this case, she is doing so well that I'm not!

Not sure about landing on the next jump.

But the landing on the next jump definitely wasn't good.

Random advert appeared just after "Gimme Gimme Gimme" started.

Wild landing on the next jump. But at least it was landed.

Combination spin at end beautiful.

You know, that was brilliant!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

She is absolutely delighted. And so she should be!

She goes into 2nd in both the FS and overall.

Well, we know that the leader from the SP has withdrawn. So, even with going into 2nd, Stefania can't actually be lower than she was in the SP. And depending on how others do, she might still climb.

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

And here is what I wrote after @saine very kindly posted screenshots from Sportity of the overall final results (the livescoring on the Entries / Results page gave up the ghost after the third skater, so we were watching oblivious to the standings):

6th!!!!!!

YEEEEESSSS!!!!!!!!! :cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

In effect, she maintained her position, because two skaters ahead of her withdrew. And although Jana HORČIČKOVÁ (CZE) moved ahead of her, Alexandra ODMAN (SWE) moved behind her. So, it all balanced out.

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

Stefania finished the Free Skate 0.74 points behind 5th position, Aleksa VOLKOVA (CAN), and 4.75 points ahead of 7th position, Chiara SCHOELL (CHE).

Overall, Stefania finished 3.90 points behind 5th position, Volkova, and 5.18 points ahead of 7th position, Schoell.

After what had happened with Marilena on Wednesday, I was really nervous for Stefania on both days. After all, she too has had a turbulent couple of years, what with her injury and at the same time going through puberty. But, I should have been reassured by how she came back in the FS in her sole Junior GP. And she carried on that form into both programmes in Tallinn.

I admit, last season, I was resigning myself to Stefania being one of those skaters whose career was not going to survive puberty. But she has not just got through it, she has had a resurgence. I would nearly go as far as to say that this is the best I've ever seen her skating!

After being apprehensive of the prospect a few months ago, I now can't wait to see Stefania move into Seniors. And she should do it as soon as she is eligible next season because, with the form she is currently in, she would hit the ground running. I just hope that being directly up against each other for the first time doesn't damage the friendship between Stefania and Marilena. Apart from anything else, I quite like it that my two favourite skaters are such close friends.

But, in the meantime, I can't wait for the next time Stefania is in action again this season.

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

I am afraid that Stefania has withdrawn from the Bosphorus Cup.

Here is what I wrote about her in the competition thread during the Warm-Up:

This is going to be fun. Not only have I two kids to keep track of in this Warm-Up, but they are doing their programmes back-to-back!

Hang on, there's only 4 on the ice. I see Vasilisa, but I don't see Stefania.

And here is what I wrote when the first skater was due to be introduced after the Warm-Up ended:

Looks like skater #24 Taisia KRIVOSHEYA (LAT) is the other withdrawal, along with skater #27, AKA my kid Stefania YAKOVLEVA (CYP).

And finally, here is what I wrote when Stefania was due to be introduced:

Well, with Stefania missing, we wait around for a moment, and then it is straight onto my other kid.

Hope she's alright.
