Stefania finished 5th out of 25 in the SP, with a score of 59.37.

Here is what I wrote at the start of the resurfacing before Stefania's group in the competition thread:

Here is what I wrote about the Warm-Up:

Here is what I wrote when she was being introduced:

And here is what I wrote about her programme:

Before I go into the comments from other members, I have to explain something for any newer readers that may be here. @elektra blue and I have each "adopted" quite a few skaters. And because we are such close friends, she refers to my "kids" as her nephews and nieces, and I do likewise with her "kids".

At the start of the competition, @elektra blue posted:

And I couldn't resist pouncing on this, challenging her with this:

To which she replied:

of course i root for my niece too

(The rest of her post was a reply to a comment another member posted about something unrelated).

So, when it came to Stefania being introduced for her programme, she posted:

And my friend in Norway, @norwegianfairytale, joined in the support:

@lileychristie in Australia commented about something I hadn't actualy thought about before:

Well, I've often said it, but black is definitely Stefania's colour.

@EdgeCall was positive:

As was my fellow Liza Tuktamysheva fan @Paulipau:

And also keen fan of Russian skaters @Skating91:

For the record, at that stage ZHANG Ruiyang (CHN) was in second position.

@norwegianfairytale came back with:

While Russian member @AlexBreeze came out with something I think we all would endorse:

@lariko in Canada commented:

And @elektra blue came back with:

Our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19, commented:

And long-time member but new poster @jgg220 added:

And that started me imagining Belfast comedian Frank Carson saying it!

Our resident video archive list compiler @labgoat posted this assessment:

And my fellow British member @FlossieH commented:

@lariko came back with this quip:

And @Isk echoed what @labgoat had said:

When the scores were announced, @EdgeCall came back with:

I doubt @EdgeCall must be getting mixed up, because as far as I know this was Stefania's highest ever score, her previous best being 58.28 at the Robin Cousins Cup last month.

Stefania is currently 3.41 points behind 4th position, ZHANG Ruiyang (CHN), and 0.07 points ahead of 5th position, Mia RISA GOMEZ (NOR). Stefania is at the head of a group of 4 skaters covered by 2.01 points, stretching down to Kristina ŠKULETA-GROMOVA (EST) in 8th position.

To complete the picture, I should probably add that the skater in 7th position is Viktoriia SAFONOVA (BLR), who I had put in 3rd position in my predictions due to her being one of only 4 skaters in the field with an Absolute PB for the total score of over 200 points.

After Mia RISA GOMEZ (NOR) skated, I commented to @norwegianfairytale:

And that is certainly the case. But, Stefania actually has three skaters right on her tail, all in contention to claim an Olympic slot. And one of them in particular, Safonova, has to be a favourite to qualify. And she will be determined to do it, having been in exile from international events or so long.

So, although Stefania is currently in a Qualifying position, it is precarious. With three skaters so close behind her, she is going to need to have a good Free Skate anyway. But, I feel that to stay in a Qualifying position, she also needs somebody ahead of her to make mistakes, because Safonova is likely to move ahead of her.

Oh, I hope my baby girl can do this!

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

The Senior Ladies FS is due to start at 17:15:00 CST (09:15:00 GMT / 10:15:00 BST / 12:15:00 EEST / 12:15:00 MSK / 13:15:00 GST). So 5 hours from now.

Stefania will be the 21st skater to start. So, first skater to go in Group 5.

The Group 5 Warm-Up is due to start at 20:49:40 CST (12:49:40 GMT / 13:49:40 BST / 15:49:40 EEST / 15:49:40 MSK / 16:49:40 GST). So 8h 34m from now.

Stefania is due to start at 20:57:30 CST (12:57:30 GMT / 13:57:30 BST / 15:57:30 EEST / 15:57:30 MSK / 16:57:30 GST). So 8h 13m from now.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

Stefania finished 5th out of 25 in the FS, with a score of 118.16. This meant that she dropped to 6th position overall, with a score of 177.53.

Here is what I wrote about the Warm-Up in the competition thread:

And here is what I wrote about her programme:

The conversation relating to Stefania actually started during the Warm-Up for the group before her, when I quoted a post I had put up in the SP thread:

There was then a conersation between myself and @norwegianfairytale, which I will not quote here to prevent this post becoming too long. Suffice to say, we were both concerned about Viktoriia SAFONOVA (BLR) jumping our girls.

As expected, Safonova had a massive lead going into the final group, jumping Mia RISA GOMEZ (NOR). I won't bother quoting the comments, but during the Warm-Up for the final group there was a conversation about who was likely to go through, and a lot of members were saying that the Top 4 would stay the same, and Viktoria would replace Stefania.

Then Skating91 threw this into the conversation:

That was of course referring to the Robin Cousins Trophy. And when I got to read that post (which wasn't until later because I was writing my Warm-Up post at the time), I thought "good on you for telling them!"  :points:

@norwegianfairytale showed her support for Stefania when she was being introduced:

As did @lariko in Canada:

@Mathematician went into it more:

After the programme was over, @katymay replied:

@niks liked the bit of the choreography that I didn't:

My good friend in Sicily, @elektra blue, commented:

@norwegianfairytale couldn't believe how good Stefania was:

While @lariko just made a statement:

Our resident video archive list compiler @labgoat really liked the programme:

And Italian member @bartlebooth was also impressed:

@EdgeCall was also impressed (for context, @EdgeCall had commented after Safonova's FS that Vika didn't emote enough):

Our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19, commented:

@Skating91 went into an analysis:

My fellow British member @FlossieH made a comment that turned out to be prophetic:

Russian member @Selivanovp made a joke in making their point:

@Czech member flanker was constructive and positive:

@Mathematician was predicting:

@Skating91 pointed out something to give us reason for concern:

@Vemvane was another member that liked the programme:

After the scores were announced, @lariko agreed with @Skating91:

And @Artemisa was also impressed:

@lileychristie then arrived, and asked what she had missed. To which @lariko replied:

Finally, @niks came back to say:

Stefania finished the Free Skate 6.04 points behind 4th position, Viktoriia SAFONOVA (BLR), and 1.18 points ahead of 6th position, ZHANG Ruiyang (CHN).

Overall, Stefania finished 2.23 points behind 5th position, Zhang, and 15.84 points ahead of 7th position, Mia RISA GOMEZ (NOR).

After the competition finished, @katymay realised something:

To which I replied:

This situation crops up now and again, when a skater finishes in the same position in both segments, but drops a position in the overall standings. It's just one of those quirks that can happen. It is so unfortunate that it had consequences in this case.

But Stefania finishing 5th in both segments, and 6th overall, in just her second Senior level competition, which just happened to be the Olympic Qualifying Event, is an amazing achievement.

Plus, finishing 6th means that if any country is not able to use a slot at the Olympics, then Cyprus will be the country that is first in line to step in and claim it.

If I had said that just over a month ago, you would all have said I was living in cloud cuckoo land and letting my biases get the better of me.

This young girl has changed everything. And I am so proud of her.

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

Stefania will be back in action at the new Challenger event in Georgia, the Trialeti Trophy, in Tbilisi.

The Senior Ladies SP is due to start at 14:15:00 GET (10:15:00 GMT / 11:15:00 BST / 13:15:00 EEST / 13:15:00 MSK / 14:15:00 GST). So 6 hours from now.

Stefania will be the 18th skater to start. So, third and middle skater to go in Group 4 (and antepenultimate skater to go before the second resurfacing).

The Group 4 Warm-Up is due to start at 16:11:30 GET (12:11:30 GMT / 13:11:30 BST / 15:11:30 EEST / 15:11:30 MSK / 16:11:30 GST). So 7h 56m from now.

Trialeti Trophy Senior Ladies SP: Results; Protocols

No video uploaded yet 😞

Stefania finished 13th out of 25 in the SP, with a score of 50.75.

Unfortunately I was not able to watch the Trialeti Trophy, as I was concentrating on the Junior Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi.

Looking at the Protocols, the only issues were with the first two elements. In the opening element, the Triple Flip-Triple Toe, the second part was under-rotated. It got the biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -2.44. But because it had by far the highest Base Value of the programme, it remained as the scoring element of the programme. It got -5 from four Judges; -4 from two Judges; and -3 from Judge 2.

The second element, the Triple Lutz, was also under-rotated. It got the second biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.04. In terms of Judges marks, it got two -3's; and five -2's.

For the remaining elements, the GOE ranged from +0.05 for the final element, the Layback Spin, to +0.45 for the third element, the Flying Camel Spin. Apart from a -3 from Judge 4 for the penultimate element, the Step Sequence, all the Judges marks for these elements ranged from 0 to +2.

Stefania is currently 0.47 points behind 12th position, Elizabet GERVITS (ISR), and 0.76 points ahead of 14th position, KIM Seoyoung (KOR). All three of them are part of a group of 13 skaters covered by 9.52 points, stretching from Iida KARHUNEN (FIN) in 7th position, 5.98 points ahead of Stefania, down to Nargiz SUELEYMANOVA (AZE) in 19th position, 3.54 points behind Stefania.

My kids went back-to-back in the Short Programme, and now they are going to go back-to-back again in the Free Skate! :drama:

In a group this big, anything can happen. If she has a good Free Skate, Stefania could potentially make it well into the Top 10. If she doesn't, she potentially could slip down to the bottom of the teens.

So, we need her to have a good Free Skate!

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

The Senior Ladies FS is due to start at 13:30:00 GET (09:30:00 GMT / 10:30:00 BST / 12:30:00 EEST / 12:30:00 MSK / 13:30:00 GST). So 5 hours from now.

Stefania will be the 13th skater to start. So, third and middle skater to go in Group 3 (and third skater to go after the first resurfacing).

The Group 3 Warm-Up is due to start at 15:14:40 GET (11:14:40 GMT / 12:14:40 BST / 14:14:40 EEST / 14:14:40 MSK / 15:14:40 GST). So 6h 44m from now.

Stefania is due to start at 15:36:30 GET (11:36:30 GMT / 12:36:30 BST / 14:36:30 EEST / 14:36:30 MSK / 15:36:30 GST). So 7h 6m from now.

Stefania finished 9th out of 25 in the FS, with a score of 108.00. This meant that she climbed to 11th position overall, with a score of 158.75.

Unfortunately I was not able to watch the Tayside Trophy, as I was watching the penultimate round of the World Superbikes from Portugal.

Looking at the Protocols, there were four elements with issues. One in the first half of the programme, and then three consecutive elements in the second half.

The first was the second element, the Triple Lutz, which was under-rotated. It had the second biggest GOE hit of the programme at -0.85. It also got Judges marks of five -2's; and two -1's.

Fast forward to the second half, and the seventh element, the Triple Loop, was landed on the quarter. It had by far the biggest GOE hit of the programme, at a massive -2.45; and got -5 from all seven Judges.

The next element, the Triple Toe, was under-rotated. It had the fourth biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -0.67. It got -3 from Judge 4; and -2 from the remaining six Judges.

This was followed by the Triple Salchow, which was also under-rotated. It had the third biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -0.76. The Judges marks were similar to the Triple Toe, with Judge 5 joining Judge 4 in giving -3; while the remaining five Judges gave -2.

There were no negative numbers next to any of the other elements. The GOE for these elements ranged from +0.23 for the tenth element, the Change Foot Combination Spin, to +0.60 for the sixth element, the Choreographic Sequence. All the Judges marks for the elements with positive GOE were in the range 0 to +2.

Stefania finished the Free Skate 4.26 points behind 8th position, Ava Marie ZIEGLER (AUT), and 0.87 points ahead of 10th position, Linnea CEDER (FIN). Stefania is at the head of a group of 5 skaters covered by 4.99 points, stretching down to Nargiz SUELEYMANOVA (AZE) in 13th position.

Overall, Stefania finished 2.73 points behind 10th position, Ziegler, and 0.37 points ahead of 12th position, Starr ANDREWS (USA). Stefania is at the head of a group of 3 skaters covered by 1.31 points, stretching down to Olivia LISKO (FIN) in 13th position.

After the SP, I said if she had a good Free Skate, Stefania could potentially make it well into the Top 10. Well, although she had a rough patch in the second half of her programme, she made it into the Top 10 of the segment. And just missed out on doing it in the overall standings.

It just shows the benefits of having a programme with a high Base Value. If you make mistakes, you can still manage a good result.

I'm not sure when she's back in action, whether it is before of after her birthday. But, I hope it isn't long before we see her again.

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

Here is what I wrote when she was being introduced:

Here is what I wrote about the programme:

The only other person commenting during Day 2 was our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19, who said:

Actually, I did make one more comment about Stefania, after skating had ended for the day:

Looking at the Protocols, there were a LOT of elements with negative GOE. Seven in total. Too many to go through individually.

The first three elements had the three biggest GOE hits of the programme. Obviously, the third element, the Triple Lutz that was landed on the quarter but she then fell on, had the biggest hit, at -2.95. But, although the first two elements had big GOE hits, they also had the two highest Base Values of the programme, meaning they remained as the two highest scoring elements of the programme.

The ninth element, the Triple Salchow which was downgraded, had the smallest GOE hit of the programme, at -0.65. However, along with the aforementioned Triple Lutz, it got -5 from all five Judges. Apart from these two elements, all the Judges marks ranged from -3 to +2.

The final element, the Flying Change Foot Combination Spin, had neutral GOE. For the remaining four elements, the GOE ranged from +0.30 for the tenth element, the Change Foot Combination Spin, to +1.00 for the sixth element, the Choreographic Sequence.

Being frank, the reason Stefania won the Free Skate by such a large margin was because the Base Value of her programme was miles higher than that of anybody else's programme. Interestingly, the programme with the next highest Base Value belonged to her team-mate, Salma Agamova, who finished 3rd in the FS with four elements with negative GOE, including two falls.

In other words - Sergei Komolov's tactic is working. Give the skaters programmes with high Base Values and, even if they make mistakes, they will still get high scores.

Stefania finished the Free Skate 11.62 points ahead of 2nd position, Jade HOVINE (BEL), and 15.10 points ahead of 3rd position, Salma AGAMOVA (TUR).

Overall, Stefania finished 18.66 points ahead of 2nd position, Hovine, and 27.67 points ahead of 3rd position, Agamova.

Well, she did it. Competing in the week leading up to her birthday, she gave herself a very nice early present by winning both segments by a large margin, and hence winning the 🥇 Gold Medal.

She'll be annoyed at having so many issues in the Free Skate. But, she should take comfort from the fact that neither Jeanie nor I had any idea that she had so many issues. It just shows how good Stefania is at selling this programme.

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

I hope you have an enjoyable day, and that the coming year is a good one for you, both on and off the ice.

Although she is no longer the youngest of my kids, and hasn't been for quite a while, Stefania will always be my baby girl. For most of the skaters I have adopted, they first came onto my radar when they were already well into their journey in this sport. But Stefania was the first skater that I have brought the whole way through. And as such, she will always hold a special place in my heart.

It's been a roller coaster of a journey. Particularly the past two years, since the injury that forced her to miss the Youth Olympics. I have to be honest, with the struggles she had during her comeback journey, I didn't think she would get back to the trajectory she had been on before it happened. But she is a determined young lady, and she fought back. And she is now skating the best that she has ever skated.

When Stefania finished down in 15th at the Junior GP in Ankara with a score of 135.21 just over a year ago, who would have imagined that 12 months later she would be the revelation of the Olympic Qualifying Event, scoring over 40 points more than she did at that Junior GP, and end up just two points and one position away from qualifying? What she has done in the past year has been remarkable.

This young lady has a very promising future in this sport, and I cannot wait to see what she can go on to achieve.

I am so proud of her.

But for now, I just hope that she has a great first day as an 18 year old.

I am afraid that Stefania has withdrawn from the IceChallenge in Graz, Austria.

As they were not updating the entries until it was the skater's turn, I did actually put up a few posts about Stefania in the competition thread.

Here is what I wrote when the livescoring page was updated to show that Marilena had withdrawn:

Here is what I posted after the scores were announced for the skater before Stefania:

And here is what I wrote a few seconds after posting that post:

Hope everything is alright with Stefania.

As I did with Marilena's 21st birthday, I have made a video to mark Stefania's 18th birthday.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgnJ11uA5Ew

Apologies that this is being posted two weeks after Stefania's birthday. I had major computer problems a couple of weeks before her birthday, which left me running way behind schedule. Consequently, I didn't even get started making this until after Stefania's birthday.

Also, it appears that I made a mistake when making the video. Including a clip of a section from her Skate To Milano SP has resulted in a copyright claim from Infront Sport. The result is that my video cannot be viewed in China, Japan, Macau or the Ukraine.

Since I don't have time tonight to find an alternative way to fill that minute of the video, I have left it as it is. But, when I have time, I will make another version without the offending clip, so that fans in those countries do not miss out.

Sorry about all this. But, it's the thought that counts.

Stefania finished 11th out of 26 in the SP, with a score of 50.34.

Here is what I wrote about the Warm-Up in the competition thread:

And here is what I wrote about the programme:

Nobody else was watching at this stage (they were watching the Ladies FS from the Finlandia Trophy).

Looking at the Protocols,

Stefania is currently 0.06 points behind 10th position, Laura SZCZĘSNA (POL), and 2.46 points ahead of 12th position, Niki WORIES (NED). Stefania is the bottom skater in a group where 8 skaters are covered by 4.65 points, stretching up to Sarina JOOS (ITA) in 4th position.

Although she is at the bottom of the group, Stefania is in a very good position. With that bit of breathing space behind her, she can concentrate on trying to move up the group. And if she has a good Free Skate, there is every chance that she could get to the top of it.

So, let's hope she does have a good Free Skate!

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

The Senior Ladies FS is due to start at 11:00:00 CET (10:00:00 GMT / 12:00:00 EET / 13:00:00 MSK / 14:00:00 GST). So 4 hours from now.

Stefania will be the 16th skater to start. So, first skater to go in Group 4.

The Group 4 Warm-Up is due to start at 13:39:45 CET (12:39:45 GMT / 14:39:45 EET / 15:39:45 MSK / 16:39:45 GST). So 6h 39m from now.

Stefania is due to start at 13:48:00 CET (12:48:00 GMT / 14:48:00 EET / 15:48:00 MSK / 16:48:00 GST). So 6h 48m from now.

But, those times may change if somebody that is due on before her withdraws.

Stefania finished 10th out of 26 in the FS, with a score of 98.51. This meant that she climbed to 10th position overall, with a score of 148.85.

Unfortunately, I was not able to watch Group 4 because I was eating my Sunday Dinner at the time. However, I have now played catch-up on the archived livestream, so here is the sort of comment I would have written about the Warm-Up if I had been watching LIVE:

Ooooh. Stefania did a little pose in the doorway before she did her walk on. Well, run on! Double waves once she got onto the ice.

Double waves from Aleksandra just after she came through the doorway, and then a causal walk onto the ice. Then a stretch of the arms, before another double wave.

We saw Stefania taking off her jacket as soon as the Start Order graphic disappeared. It's the white dress for her "The Artist" FS, so it's just the SP that's new. Mind you, when we switched to the camera zoomed on ion her, we saw her having a bit of trouble taking it off. That's what happens when you try to do things on the move! But, Kristina successfully got it.

Oooh, when Laura SZCZĘSNA (POL) was being focussed on, it looked like Aleksandra was going to collide with her. But, she passed by without any drama. It might just have been the camera angle making them look closer than they were.

Also when they were on Szczęsna, we saw Stefania in the background lining up a jump, but she went out of shot before doing it.

When they switched to focus on Aleksandra, she was just landing a jump close to the camera. Her jacket was gone by now, and she was wearing a beautiful red dress. She then crossed over to the far side of the rink, and at the same time we saw Stefania lining up a jump, but again she was out of shot too soon for us to see it.

As she was going down to the other end of the rink, she was gliding along doing an Arabesque, but got obscured by the Planned Programme Content graphic, so we didn't see the end of it. But, when it disappeared, she did a sequence of jumps. The first one was beautiful, the second had a bit of an iffy landing, and the third one didn't have a great landing at all. We were lucky to see the third jump, because Stefania came into the foreground doing a jump. But, we only saw the top half of her, so I don't know what her landing was like.

When the camea switched to focus on the next skater, we saw Stefania going over to the boards to talk to Kristina. And a while later, we saw her leaving again. The stream actually then jumped a bit to the next skater, and in the background we saw Aleksandra skating alongside the boards. Then we saw Stefania in the background going in the opposite direction. She then went out of shot and, not long later, we saw her circling around, before going out of shot again.

While they were showing the current Standings table on screen, we saw Stefania circling around lining up a jump, but she did it out of shot.

In the last minute or so, when they had a graphic up on screen telling us what we were watching, we saw Stefania and Aleksandra go through teh shot a few times, but didn't see them do any elements. There was one tie that Stefania did a jump in shot, but another skater went past her and blocked our view at just the crucial moment.

But, we are going to see Stefania do lots of elements now, as it is her turn to do her programme.

And here is the sort of comment I would have written about her programme if I had been watching LIVE:

Beautiful 3 jump sequence to start with.

Combination jump good too.

Here's the floorography for the change of tune. You know I don't like skaters touching the ice, but I do like the choreography when she sits up and then gets up.

Ach, fall on the Triple Lutz.

Looked like the next combination jump was going to go wild, but the stream glitched in the middle of the second jump. But, I think she saved it.

Stream glitched again, jumping to the start of the Camel Spin, which was beautiful.

Picture very jerky during the Choreographic Sequence, but it seemed to go well. Beautiful Triple Loop at the end of it.

The Triple Toe that followed was anything but beautiful.

It was clear she was getting tired when she did the Triple Salchow. Even I could see she wasn not round enough.

Stream was glitching a lot duing the Change Foot Combination Spin at the end of "Singing In The Rain". But, from what I could see, it did seem slow.

Yeah, she was running on fumes during the Step Sequence. Still good, though.

But, she managed to get through the Flying Change Foot Combination Spin at the end.

As soon as Stefania finished, Diana said "I loved this! There were so many creative choreographic moves. She is a chorographic risk taker". Although I am not keen on the lying down on the ice, Diana was really gushing over this section of choreography.

I had to laugh when she was trying to describe one of the moves as a "sit spin type Twizzle". And it was when she said this that it hit me. Sergei was an Ice Dancer. That's why there are so many creative pieces of choreography in this.

Double wave from Stefania. But, no smile. She is exhausted. Kristina waves, and then Stefania just about has enough energy to do another double wave and make a heart out of her fingers (haven't seen that one before!)

She goes into the lead of both teh FS and overall.

But, she hasn't the energy left to react.

Go and have a well deserved rest, dear!

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

At the start of the programme, my friend from Norway, @norwegianfairytale, started off the cheering for her:

While my friend in Sicily, @elektra blue, was imagining things:

To which @norwegianfairytale replied:

And @elektra blue answered:

Anyway, back to reality. Our bastion of positivity, @Jeanie19, liked her:

@norwegianfairytale was fair in her assessment:

Finally Italian member @bartlebooth commented about Diana's views, and also about the fall:

Looking at the Protocols, Stefania had issues with seven elements. Funnily enough, they were arranged into two groups of three elements, and then the final element on it's own.

The first group started with the second element, the Triple Lutz-Double Toe, where the Lutz was landed on the quarter. It had the third biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.18, but because it had the second highest Base Value of the programme, it remained as the second highest scoring element of the programme. It got -2 from six Judges; and -1 from Judge 4.

The third element was a Triple Lutz on it's own, which was under-rotated and she fell on. It had the biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -2.36, which meant that it went from having the fifth highest Base Value of the programme to being the third lowest scoring element of the programme. Unsurprisingly, it got -5 from all seven Judges.

Skipping forward to the next group, the Protocols don't tell us what specifically went wrong with the eighth element, the Triple Toe, but, as I commented when I saw it, it was not a pretty jump at all. It had the second biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.43, which meant that it went from being the sixth highest Base Value of the programme to being the fourth lowest scoring element of the programme. The Judges gave it three -4's; and four -3's.

The ninth element, the Triple Salchow, was downgraded. It had the fourth biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -0.52, and because it already had the lowest Base Value of the programme, it remained the lowest scoring element of the programme. It got -5 from Judge 6; and -4 from the remaining six Judges.

For the remaining three elements with negative GOE, the GOE ranged from -0.49 for the fourth element, the Triple Loop-Double Toe, to -0.23 for the tenth element, the Change Foot Combination Spin. It should be noted that the fourth element had the third highest Base Value of teh programme, and so remained as the third higehst scoring element of the programme. Apart from a -3 from Judge 5 for the final element, the Flying Change Foot Combination Spin, all the Judges marks for these three elements were in the -2 to 0 range.

The seventh element, the Triple Loop, had neutral GOE, and because it had the fourth highest Base Value of the programme, it remained as the fourth highest scoring element of the programme. It got -1 from Judge 5; and 0 from the remaining six Judges.

For the elements with positive GOE, the GOE ranged from +0.26 for the penultimate element, the Step Sequence, to +0.95 for the opening element, the Triple Flip-Double Axel-Double Axel done in sequence. This sequence of jumps had by miles the higehst Base Value of teh programme, so it remained as the highest scoring element of the programme. Apart from a +3 from Judge 7 for the sequence of jumps, all the Jusges marks for the elements with positive GOE were in the 0 to +2 range.

Stefania finished the Free Skate 0.47 points behind 9th position, Laura SZCZĘSNA (POL), and 2.64 points ahead of 11th position, Anna PEZZETTA (ITA). Stefania was the bottom skater in a group where 4 skaters are covered by 1.86 points, stretching up to Niki WORIES (NED) in 7th position.

Overall, Stefania finished 0.53 points behind 9th position, Szczęsna, and 0.60 points ahead of 11th position, Wories.

It's a pity that she was running out of steam in the second half. But, she got through it, and even got positive GOE for these elements.

She is next due to compete at the Golden Spin Of Zagreb, so at least she is not entered for anything this week. So, she can take a rest, and then prepare for the trip to Croatia, which is due to be another head-to-head with Marilena.

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:

Golden Spin Of Zagreb Senior Ladies: Results

No video uploaded yet 😞

Stefania finished 6th out of 30 in the FS, with a score of 111.24. This meant that she climbed to 8th position overall, with a score of 167.18.

Unfortunately, I was not able to watch the Golden Spin Of Zagreb, as I was concentrating on the Grand Prix Final and the final round of the Formula 1.

Looking at the Protocols, there was a very costly patch at the start of the second half. But before and after this patch, there were no issues at all.

Stefania fell on the seventh element, the Triple Loop. It had the biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -2.45, which meant that it went from having the fifth highest Base Value of the programme, to being the second lowest scoring element of the programme. Unsurprisingly, it got -5 from all seven Judges.

The eighth element, the Triple Toe, was landed on the quarter. It had the third biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -0.84, which meant that it went from having the sixth highest Base Value of the programme, to being the sixth lowest scoring element of the programme. It got -2 from all seven Judges.

The ninth element, the Triple Salchow, was under-rotated. It had the second biggest GOE hit of the programme, at -1.03, which meant that it went from having the sixth lowest Base Value of the programme, to being the lowest scoring element of the programme. It got -3 from all seven Judges.

For the remaining elements, the GOE ranged from +0.06 for the final element, the Flying Change Foot Combination Spin, to +1.06 for the second element, the Triple Lutz. Apart from two -1's (from Judge 3 for the fourth element, the Triple Loop-Double Toe; and from Judge 1 for the aforementioned Flying Change Foot Combination Spin), all the Judges marks for the elements with positive GOE were in the 0 to +3 range.

As well as having the highest GOE, the Triple Lutz had the third highest Base Value of teh programme, which together made it the second highest scoring element of the programme. Ahead of it was the opening element, the Triple Flip-Double Axel-Double Axel done in sequence, which not only had by miles the highest Base Value, but also had the third highest GOE.

In fact, the first four elements had the four higehst Base Values of the programme, and because they all got positive GOE, they hence were the four highest scoring elements of the programme.

Stefania finished the Free Skate 4.72 points behind 5th position, Elyce LIN-GRACEY (USA), and 0.06 points ahead of 7th position, Léa SERNA (FRA).

Overall, Stefania finished 0.23 points behind 7th position, Nina PINZARRONE (BEL), and 4.22 points ahead of 9th position, Lorine SCHILD (FRA).

All in all, this was a good showing for Stefania. Although the start of the second half didn't go well, the start of the first half more than made up for it.

:cheer: WELL DONE STEFANIA!!! :cheer:
