I must say that i was pleasently surprised with Tanith's new look. She is aborable whatever color her hair is, and dark hair makes her look more sultry and serious.

in this pic (third one down) she looks a LOT like Charlotte from Sex and the City!

And here, at the compolistory dance (SPOLIER) she looks painfully thin. You can see her ribs... she gets thinner every year.

I love that dress though!!!

Don't Agree

She looks like everyone else with dark hair. She is much more beautiful with blonde hair and I am not a blonde hair kinda girl myself.

I need to see a bigger pic of her with the new hair to decide for myself...but as far as I can see, looks better blond.

I think she looks more striking with Blonde hair. Might just take time getting used to the darker hair - just don't understand why she changed it now. Maybe to be more like Amelie since she had dark hair in the movie?

I haven't seen her hair (my dial up is being poopy with pictures tonight) but I remember when Melissa Gregory changed from blonde back to brunette it took a long time to get used to it... I'm sure Tanith's hair will take some getting used to, but she's so pretty she could have pink hair and still be gorgeous!

I really love Melissa's change of hair color (she looked so blah with blonde) and I also love Tanith's new look!

I really find the visibility of her chest and rib bones disturbing - she may just be lean, but I don't find it attractive to look at and it actually makes me worry. didn't even see her hair as a result.

I'm distracted by hating on that dress.

:agree:I am not "hating" per say, but I am not fond of the one pictured anyway. The dip on her hip with the illusion fabric???? And as it is, it doesn't look that appealing because the Ilium is still hidden by the fabric, which wrinkles a lot in that area and "took away" from the appealing aspect of the hip bone showing anyway - destroys the look of the lines of the ilium. Maybe when people see her in it they are too distracted by her incredible beauty and just don't notice???
M Davis has a good example IMO of how to emphasize the hip - did three of the ladies all go and get the material of the same bolt, maybe I have never noticed before but 3 of the "top" teams have the same color - at least strikingly similar to each other. Funny, I look at the pictures of her dresses in the past and wonder why they are not as "appealing" as the used to be? Maybe it is just a phase this year. And

Love her little "social" black dress though, very cute / professional.

But I do love her hair, I am USALLY partial to darker hair anyway.

I don't know if you have ever seen her in person, but it is surprisingly different IMO and others I have heard. She looks more "meaty" in person. It is odd breaking the laws of the photographic image, but she looks skinnier in pics than in person. Strange but true. I don't know how or why, but she breaks that "gain 10 in a pic rule."

So anyway, I am just saying as to alleviate any concern for her health.

BTW, anyone notice the waist on Davis?

I can't speak on this season... but she did last year and the season before look a bit 'bigger' and not just skin and bones... but looking at my pictures you wouldn't see that lol

I haven't decided on the hair...perhaps I need to see it more. One thing I did notice is that it looks all the same color - very flat and un-natural. Perhaps if I saw some closeups, I might change my mind......

I prefer red-head and always wished I was one myself (looked bad when I dyed it). I'm a dark haired gal and like the look of dark hair and fair skin, so when I see all these blonds (which is a recessive gene) I know many are breaking the genetic rules.

Back to Tanith's hair - One thing that ALWAYS bothered me about her hair is that her dye jobs were really bad. First, there was "stripe" in her hair....I know it's suppose to resemble highlights, but it just looks bad. I don't know if it was done professionally or not (you'd think Igor and clan would have a colourist on hand) but I find the look tacky. It was very noticeable during the Olympic season. Here are some lindks with her hair "highlighted":

Next, She doesn't always keep the color up and so in addition to stripes throughout the hair, she ends up with stripes from roots, where you can see 3 or more different colors. Here are some pictures of not touching up the roots:

The banner picture on USFSA shows the various colourings: http://www.usfigureskating.org/

Anyhow....I'm one that feels if you are going to color your hair, you need to keep it up and have it look NATURAL - esp. for a big event, like Nationals/Worlds/Oly.

Good point on the cut of the dress on the hip...needs to be a bit lower (I can't believe i'm saying that!)....much like that red/white dress with the poofy skirt a few years back.

I think Benjamin Agosto looked a lot better when his hair was long, why did he cut it!! He looked so cute. Maybe they are trying to go for a more professional appearance this year.
At first when I looked at the pictures in the link, I thought the first one was of Tanith, and I thought she looked bad, but then I realized it was a different couple..
Then I saw her real photo farther down, and thought she didn't look so good in that picture with dark hair. I liked her stripes! They were dramatic looking.

Yep, either it is or it isn't, that in between of and the illusion fabric to boot, not so wonderful IMO.

Are you talking about this dress?

I came from the COI site to give them credit, but there are new pics there now and couldn't link, so I hope I am not breaking any guidelines.

The way there are "straps" yet do not "disguise themselves" as part of the actual hip is much preferred IMO. The Ilium crest is one of the most beautiful parts of the human figure, I can see the desire to show it off, but the illusion fabric and the fact it really isn't seeming low enough to dictate even using it, is a deterrent for me to like it.

ITA, loved how puffy and flowing it would get. Had that cool "recoil" bounce to it.

I was never fond of the stripes in her hair, liked it better than this dress being discussed but, I found it to defined. Maybe a darker "strawberry Blonde" color wouldn't have been as dramatic. But that is JMO.

Pink hair, bring it on! I love it! Yah I am wierd, I like pink hair but to much of a contrast in colors.... Freaky Seani.

Yes, i have to agree that Ben looked better with the wid hair. i was dissiponted last year when he cut it and slicked it back for the flamenco Freedance. He didn't look himself.
