I find the whole Oklahoma Bombing anecdote from Eteri fascinating and started looking for more information on it. The group that was stranded was pretty big and I could not find any direct mention of her. The group that was stranded was the Russian Ballet on Ice and there's video of Eteri skating with them in 1993 which was about a year before they got stranded. There is an article putting Nikolai Apter in Oklahoma as part of the group and Eteri stated that he was her pair partner. I'm going to put the links establishing those two facts first and then put the rest in chronological order.

The cat was trapped in a suitcase for seven days after the bombing and was found by a volunteer clean-up crew from DOC which had gone to the 7th floor Wednesday to retrieve the Russian skaters' belongings after the Alfred Murrah Federal Building car bomb explosion last week. https://oklahoman.com/gallery/6038702/the-days-following-oklahoma-city-bombing-april-1995

I have no reason to doubt her story about her and other russian skaters close to the Oklahoma City bombing considering how detailed it is and how it matches up with published information, but I do find the story of the fireman who helps her get a job with Ice Capades to be very odd. Partly because in the interview a very weird name for the fireman is given and partly because Ice Capades was in chaos and would only exist for another 2 years. It makes more sense if "Ice Capades" is just a generic name for some touring ice show.

Lyuba Rubtsova also did surprisingly well (I mean she usually is not that consistent. She's second just behind Dasha.

Jumps:

Steps and spin:

Alisa Dvoeglazhova is 5th, also did well. In younger girls Baziliuk and Andreeva are 3rd and 4th, only poor Kostyleva messed both attempts for the solo 3Lz, though she delivered everything else, she is 10th for now.

Today was not good, I've seen almost whole last two groups and only mistakes were from Rubtsova na Sadkova. Hopefully tomorrow they will do bettter. :cheer:

Alisa did well though. And the future is the most important thing and that 2A lift off by Sadkova was a real wow-moment for me. It's so easy. Triple axel here we come!
Yeah, I saw it and I thought she's going for triple :)
She fell on 3F, but the difference is very small for all skaters on top places. Lyuba, who is currently 6th, loses only 5 points on the first place.

Boys got medals, BTW, Kolya is golden (even though he fell on both quads :( ), Arseniy is third. He won over Lev Lazarev both in SP and FS, just the 4 points difference from the elements has shown as decisive about who gains silver and bronze.

BTW, friendly coaches
