Daniil Gleikhengauz
spoke about the form of Adelia Petrosyan and Sofia Akateva.
"Adelia's stage in Moscow was at a very good level. In Kazan it was still a bit raw, a lot didn't work out in the free program, in the short program points were lost on the spin. But there is progress from the performances to the first stage, from the first to the second. I want to continue this trajectory to the Russian Championships, to show clean skating in both programs there.
I like the way she trains now. She is in good shape. This is also the period when the coach and the athlete enjoy the process. The coach invests, the athlete invests, and her mother invests in her and controls her. This is what we always say, that parents should work in unison with the coach and help. If you are moving in the same direction and have the same opinion on all issues, then you get good work.
She is in good shape now, watches her weight, watches her regime. She does the necessary volume of training, which leads to the results that at the moment she is the leader of our team.
The situation with Sonya is a little more complicated. She missed the whole season due to injury. It is a little difficult for her to find competitive confidence. She thinks that she goes out and everything is as usual, but something goes wrong: nerves, legs do not obey.
After St. Petersburg, we discussed the quadruple toe loop she fell from – she did it 30 seconds before getting into the starting pose. During the six-minute warm-up, she did it several times, then, while they were giving the scores, she jumped. And then she got up, skated, and it was a completely different attempt. Underrotation, fall, her legs were completely wrong. And this is only a question of psychology.
It is clear that now she is not ringing, this is not a super form. She is in adolescence, it is difficult, the body is rebuilding. We do performances - it is difficult for her to arrive fresh, her legs are weak. This is compounded by a pass and unnecessary nerves. That is why performances like in St. Petersburg happen," said the choreographer and coach of the group Eteri Tutberidze in the show "Rink".
