Edit: This is a response to the post above by bebevia wrt judge swaps.

They weren't necessarily swapped, just so I don't confuse anyone. Judging panel is renewed for each SP & FS. Not that the arrangements don't look errr.......ish.

Your intent is as transparent as the judging in this event. Everyone skated their hearts out. That's not the criteria of judging in this sport.

Is it weird I'm starting to feel glad Yulia didn't win gold? At least everyone thought she was the star and earned her gold in the team event considering the score. Even I said her team event score should have been around 135. I still maintain a clean Yulia being worthy of a 140 like at a euros. Sorry...I do. The thing is she would have still won the team event easy with 135!! The sad thing is all Adelina did was skate her heart out and it's not fair but this may haunt her career. Hmmm??

Yes, it's a good thing for her. Katerina Witt said "Shame gold medal. Yuna won it." (and I would argue Caro silver). You hated listening to me these last few weeks talk down Julia, but I'm sure even her fans would be surprised to see her score 135 with several mistakes and break 200+ with two very flawed programs. Now at least she won't have this taint all over her. She did deserve to win the team FS at least.

People always think Kim is tentative because she doesn't look so happy like other skaters after landing difficult jumps. I talked about this in other threads. Her jumps are part of choreography, not some accomplishment to be excited about just because of not falling off. Just because a skater's mouth is ear to ear after landing a jump that doesn't mean the skater is "on."

P.S. I will miss her graceful, otherworldly skating forever.

Indeed. We should not forget that Yulia Lipnitskaya received 200+ points (!!!!!!!!) for such magnificent showing in her SP and FS. She even got higher PCS than Mao. If this is not a fraud, I do not know what is.

You're totally right. I'd hate to see this whole thing characterized as some fan wars when there are legit questions that needed to be answered.

Ridiculous. Basically these 2 judge are saying Adelina FS was the best ever. We also already know that one judge's husband is the head of the Russian Federation! Another was a Ukraine judge once suspended for fixing the Nagano Olympics!

Meanwhile… Adelina will now need to prove that this was not a fluke for the rest of her life. Its a gift and a curse at the same time, from her own country!

So basically you admit this judging was a fraud, but these girls (and the ISU) can get away with it thanks to ISU's own rule changes. I have to say your honesty is refreshing in some hilarious way.

Agree totally. 9.5 snad 9.75s for that kind of performance? She is below Caroline, Kim, Mao and perhaps on par with gracie gold and ashley ie in the 8's at best. This plus the SP means she really should be in third,

Adelina has nothing to prove. Instead she has a nice new shiny Olympic Gold medal & every time she skates people will say Olympic Champion. Only jealous, nasty, hate-filled people like you who want to destroy a young girl who EARNED her Gold medal see the worst in everything.

If you look at the scores in detail you can clearly see where points were lost & gained.
People are only crying "fix" because a Russian girl won in Russia.
Adelina is not one of my favourite skaters but I will congratulate the girl on skating to wonderful programs in the biggest event of her life.
D/W gold was a done-deal two years before these games started but very little is mentioned of this.
I'm only ashamed of figure skating today because of the nasty people on here NOT our new Olympic Champion.

So you're not a tad bit surprised that most of the skating legends and commentators thought Yuna's score was undeservingly low? That it scored above Yuna's 2013 World LP flawlessly clean program too?

And by the way, I do think Adelina has potential to be a great skater. It's just that she's not polished enough yet.
