I wonder what is wrong with Berestovskaya... Again she looks like she could cry at any moment. Completely out of it.

Not to pry into her private life but I hope she's alright.

I didn't find her like this. She seems fine, but her triples aren't stable. She just worry too much about them. And also, they are all sensitive souls. Look at Polina. She's already almost crying before the start, because of stupid workers there, who coulnd't put music in time.

So, no Dzepka and no Akatieva? Sad.

Well, maybe... but she didn't even smile in the choreo part at the start. I hope it is nothing more than what you are saying.

And yeah the Polina thing was a trainwreck. First they waited for like a minute and then they put it on before she has the time to get truly ready. Can't they understand such young girls can be very sensitive...

Very good!

Skating's fantastic. Flexibility is 11/10. And body control in general.

Just rewatched Liza's program again, she smiles there many times, especailly after jumps, but too focus during the stsq. Maybe she used to be perfect. Need to find videos from that competition, where she beat Akatieva. I guess there she's shining after the free program.

Well, pretty nice competition overall, many good and promising girls.

This competition on 25-26th of December lists some interesting participants, Dzepka most importantly. Hopefully something actually comes out of that.

I've seen it too many times on those juvenile competitions. :disapp:
Could somebody explain to me, how hard would it be to wait, let's say, 15 seconds and if there is still music malfunction, to say to the microphone "Polina, please go back to your coach, we need a minute to check on the sound"?
Girl comes back, has several seconds to get hold of herself, listen to the coach and goes again.

Where lies the problem (apart from being careless jerks)? :confused2:

Well, protocols are out. Looks like Melkumova managed to underrotate every single thing in her FS with 3 falls. She also clearly has a planned zayak - I really hope her team knows what they are doing. In reality, she should just be jumping 1As and doubles and get those in good order first.

However, that step sequence in the SP that actually was aired(Stream died and didn't show the FS, thankfully it seems) was lvl 3. So a 8-year-old performing lvl 3 step sequence with positive GOE across the board.

To think that she only was getting Basic level step sequences with 0 GOE just 3 months ago.... But please fix the jumps ... Both programs combined there were a total of zero jumping passes that weren't underrotated :noshake:

edit:

Well, actually managed to get some kind of a version.

It's actually much better than the other FS. And I guess it's her personal best for the FS too as well as total. Over 80 points in total, actually. Her previous PB was 71.52. So I guess that's what we call progress. 4th in the SP and 25th for the FS for 11th overall... Sigh.

I also get the feeling that her issue isn't a lack of power, entirely. She seems to put a lot of power into the salchow, for instance. It just seems to go in the completely wrong directions.

She completely recycles the step sequence and the FS choreo isn't nowhere near her SP choreo. I get a feeling the FS is almost a throwaway. Is she only in sports 2 category instead of junior 1 so that she can actually perform step sequences? And test triples too, I guess. As she'd be good enough to win almost every junior 1 competition right now, at least placing top 3. But I just don't understand why she feels the need to attempt these ridiculously cheated jumps that are way beyond her current abilities, especially with such transitions...

She's a big risk to ever become relevant at all with these jumps but the skating skills and transitions just are so good, I really hope she can pull through.

Davydov's kittens were gorgeous today! A few mistakes, but very nice overall!

Elizaveta Berestovskaya: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FTCK6Syna54 - Liza's smile at the end of the program just warms my soul

Samodelkina was soooo good!! Just wow. Incredible! Every performance I think more highly of her interpretation abilities. Divine hands.

Berestovskaya - I actually couldnt believe she managed to land that first combo - somehow. Hope she can regain her consistency !

And hey, Shayuki. Glad to see we're in the same team - Tarusina, Gubanova, Kostornaya. :ghug:

Oh, and with tars for being in the same team with Gubanova. :ghug:
(I also liked Konstantinova's program but really... this beautiful girl needs to do something with her jumps, move to another coach for example)

Landed the combo and actually after 3 rewatches this is a much better version. This in just a month.

Really appreciate you uploading the videos - Thank you! Yakovets was interesting. Quite raw but some great skills. I also liked Lebedeva here. Need to watch in more detail after nationals
