I played scrimmage hockey and have skated recreationally for 20 years. The biggest error I made was not starting out in figure skates. I was told by a pro if I was a figure skater I would do pretty well.
I am not transitioning to do "pretty well". I would like to transition as I had an accident and part of the push and balance of my right leg have been compromised. I can still hockey skate, but don't have the stamina nor the overall push to keep going on the ice.
I am not saying transitioning to figure skating will be easy as I am no fool. I do know that figure skates on the whole offer better balance than the blades of a hockey skate.
I am looking at Jackson Artiste as a beginning skate and want to try and be sure that it fits my body profile.
My stat's. 6 ft 2 inches my weight 225. Thank you for any advice you can offer. Greg
