In honor of Worlds in Canada I decided to go back and listen to Bowser and Blue sing "The Night They Invented Poutine." A short live version from 1992: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bTBB8IY12QM. And a longer version from a recording: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WLCcyKqXajU.

While looking for the previous tune I found this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=194gsFM-j1c. I have never been to Montreal so I have no idea if it is correct but saying "bonjourhi" sounds like a good bilingual exercise:).

First pairs out last night at Worlds Montreal performed to Fleetwood Mac’s The Chain.. such an unusual choice and fun!! They did very well and were underscored I think

I then remembered a cover of Rhiannon my friend and musician Ron shared with me a few years back.. a slower gentler softer version.. just two lasses and a guitar in a garden.. but thru their lovely harmonies you can hear what the song is really about

listening some tangos like my 50% Argentinean recalled me today ,lol , one of my favorites ones from Julio Sosa titled Al mundo le hace falta un tornillo on english it would be "to the world lack a screw" .and thinking on the lyrics is true what is happening nowadays.

I have become quite addicted to this:

I have a Pakistani friend who often gives me rides to our shared dentist, and she plays this group's music a lot in the car. Says it distracts her from her upcoming appointment. She told me one day last year that her husband's car had been broken into while he was at work the day before. The only damage was a broken lock, but the thieves had stolen his half-dozen Coke Studios CDs. I guess the thieves were fans also :cautious:

Love choral singing anyway, both doing it and listening to it, and what beautiful acoustics using the multi-levels!

ABC Classic (the classical and sort of maybe classical and light and screen music etc) radio station is running their annual top 100, the theme this year is music that makes us feel good and my long shortlist is 38, which is not as bad as some years, but I only have 10 votes! and 5 days to get it down.

Currently trying to be ruthless, but relistening to Riverdance (following Spirited Away, Beethoven's 9th, Fingal's Cave, Zadok the Priest, Zorba the Greek (has anyone skated to Zorba the Greek? if not why not???), the Can-Can, Adiemus, the Left Bank Waltz and The Moldau is not making this easy folks. And they are one and all earworms.

I wish I could listen to that station! My kind of music.

Zorba was popular for skaters in my era, but I can't remember anyone specifically. My partner and I compromised one year and did our SP to Zorba (his choice) and the FP to Madama Butterfly (my choice). But we weren't the level of well-known skaters you mean by "who skated to this?" ;)
