Where would Lysacek have been with clean short?

If Lysacek had done a clean short, the same long he did skating in the last group, and Lambiel, Buttle, and everybody else had skated exactly the same way they did were do you believe he would have finished? Since 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are the only viable options I used those three. If you add up the 9 points he lost on missed jumps in the short that would give him a total between Lambiel and Buttle for the bronze. To win silver he would have need higher PCS in the short without the mistakes, or higher PCS in the long in the final flight. To be 4th it would mean his PCS came down skating with more polished skater in the last group, and his PCS scores being helped by skating in the less talented second-last group.

I think Lysacheck would have had probably had the silver, and definitely at least the bronze and the judges would have scored Lambiel and Buttle lower accordingly. I still think the judges are scoring with ordinals in their head, but they have to do the math very quickly - maybe they aren't that good at math, which is why they put Plushenko so far ahead, to make sure they dont make a little boo boo and end up giving him silver by mistake.

So you also suspect the judges were always trying to manipulate Lysacek's scores to have him as high as possable? That is what I suspect as well. I still picked 4th since I cant see his PCS being any higher, they were already so inflated, and I also believe his PCS would have dropped about 0.2 being in the final group with more polished skater than him which were not in his flight.

Considering neither Lambiel or Buttle was clean in their short or long program, and Lysacek was clean with his long....had all things been the same, but Evan doing a clean short, I think it would be ridiculous to think he WOULDN'T/SHOULDN'T have been second.

With a clean short and the same long program, I think Evan definately would have had the Bronze medal, maybe even the Silver.

I think a good question should be--would he have been as on fire in the short as he was in the long? Johnny was clean in the long, but he had a lackluster skate. Where would Johnny have been if he had brought it in the long?

Johnny's long was not clean. He stumbled out of a jump, two footed another, and left a full jumping pass out.

I cant believe anybody voted 2nd at all. If you add the 8 points or so he lost with his two mistakes in the short he would have needed even higher PCS scores and his PCS scores were so embarassingly inflated and generous already it is hard to imagine the judges having the sheer ignorance to raise them another 3 points.

? Let your imagination soar. Haven't you been paying attention to how the judges award program component scores under the New Judging System?

Of course the judges would have had the sheer ignorance to raise them by another three points for a clean program. They might even have summoned the idiocy to raise them by four.

His only unclean program was the short, and the short your PCS points are divided by half and he had only one flow-interrupting fall. So if you are saying his would have raised by 3 or 4, I guess we should assume Lambiel who had two of those falls in the long were points are full would have had his raised by 14 right since 3 or 4 for one fall in the short=12 to 16 for two falls in long(which would give him a 180+ score without the errors and the triple axel. ).
