If Lysacek had done a clean short, the same long he did skating in the last group, and Lambiel, Buttle, and everybody else had skated exactly the same way they did were do you believe he would have finished? Since 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are the only viable options I used those three. If you add up the 9 points he lost on missed jumps in the short that would give him a total between Lambiel and Buttle for the bronze. To win silver he would have need higher PCS in the short without the mistakes, or higher PCS in the long in the final flight. To be 4th it would mean his PCS came down skating with more polished skater in the last group, and his PCS scores being helped by skating in the less talented second-last group.
