I'd have to go with biathlon, too. It's not that I especially dislike it, it's just that -- well, quite frankly, in the US they show so little of it that if they did get rid of it, no one would probably notice.
I, too, am getting tired of these new "extreme" snow sports (must be a generational thing); I think they've added some new ones this year that sound even weirder than the other ones. If they keep it up, there's going to be little difference between the Olympic and the Winter X-Games. But I realize the TV ratings have a lot to do with it; it's popular, and in North America, we seem to be rather good at it, so that helps revenue.
I wouldn't mind seeing short-track speedskating disappear. I flat out just do not understand this sport at all. What's the object? Keep going around the track at an extreme angle half holding onto the ice until everyone around you stops falling down and taking three other people with them? It's kind of like human bowling. Plus if they took it out of the Olys, perhaps Speedy would get so upset he would resign from the ISU in protest and that could ONLY be a GOOD thing.... (When WAS he a short-tracker, anyway? I was under the impression this was a pretty new sport and he looks pretty dang old to have competed in anything invented in the last couple decades of the 20th century.....)
