Who will get a gold? (LADIES)

And from Hungary, of course! Julia Sebestyen has been good this season, too. Maybe Diana Poth will be there, too?

yeah, what if Pöykio skates clean, then she could be on the podium?? With Galina and Kostner?? Ok, I'm dreaming, still....

Is Volchkova even listed as a competitor at Euros???? She certainly didn't earn it at Russian Nationals.

No Vika won't be there, she was only 6th at nationals....but it do looks like Sokolova is back!! Really hope Soldatova gets the nod also, from those who decides..hm...

I would love to see Maniachenko on the podium but that's a dream. The two top skaters, let's face it, are Liashenko and Sebastyen. Unless Irina and Elena show up healthy, I have no predictions for a third skater on the podium.

Galina could very well be on the podium, so keep dreaming!
the field of ladies in Europe are so open this year, and none of them really shows any great consistens, except from, maybe Liashenko....and remember, Galina was fourth in Lausanne, and in my opinion, should've got the bronze over Volchkova:p

If Maniachenko is just consistent, she'll be on the podium I think. I just hope she lands her flip, she always has trouble with it. I want it to be

1 Liashenko/Maniachenko, any order
2 " "
3 Sebestyan

Sokolova apparently was having great practices at Russian Nats (asides from the 3flip), so she could definitely be a contender for any of the medals I think.

the ladies competition is very open.
my predictions:
1. Sokolova - she will come back and win.
2. Sebestyen - it´s in her home country and with the help of her fans she will make the silver medal and she has experience to handle the pressure (I hope)
3. Liashenko
chances for medal: Maniachenko, Kostner, Drei
I hope there will be a young skater who will take the chance to skate under the first 6 (like Kostner last year).

Did I miss something? Was Sebestyen born in Germany and then switched countries? Her name does not sound German to me.

As far as I know, Europeans are in Budapest, Hungary. Worlds are in Germany

What I think the podium may look like:

1. Liashenko
2. Sokolova
3. Sebestyen

and now the one I would love to see, but which is probably not going to happen:

1. Sokolova
2. Kostner
3. Lautowa:)

... but there are still a few days left, to hope this might come true. ;)

Unless Elena Sokolova gets over her trauma, I think it will be Julia Sebastyen. very consistent skater with all the tricks.

I still would like to see Galina M. sneak in a bronze or silver.

Joe

I think the winner will be Julia Sebestyen if she and Liashenko skate cleanly. She seems to do well under the 6.0 system more the Liashenko and she's skating in her hometown as well. The Finnish ladies, Maniachenko, and possibly Sokolova could contend as well. Another thing to note is that there is no qualifying round for whatever that's worth.

It's true, it's true. I used the terms in the same sentence. she looked good to me in the GPs. She has more style than EL.

I don't know, reports about her at Russian Nationals were pretty good, even if she was only 2nd in FS.
