I will miss Miki. It is really sad that she cannot make it. I hope she feels better and is doing well.

I also will miss Jeff greatly. But because he doesn't seem to be in his best condition right now, it may be nice to wait for him to take time and come back strong in Nationals and Worlds. I hope that he can defend his national champ position and make the Canadian team to the Worlds.

And I'll miss Nobunari for sure. But because he has a big event to come (Nationals), it may be good that he can take time.

The trouble with wishing that someone had made the finals is that then someone else wouldn't have.

I was rooting for Joannie, but I'm not sure I would want to sacrifice Caroline Z.

Very true, very true... but I'd be lying if I didn't stress that I might be tempted to scarifice Mr. Kwanford for Joubert... But its ok, because he knows and has come to terms with my obsession for all things french... french skaters, french soccer players, french fries...

Wishing for someone is imaginary. So my imagination allows me to bring both Jeff and Oda without sacrificing anyone. Let's just dream of the ideal world.

 

[Ladskater]

Men: only Joubert and Verner. While I still enjoy watching him skate, Buttle does not belong in an event like this any longer. Carriere is not ready at this point. I dont like Oda's childish skating anyway and there are better skaters out there so I wont miss him.

Pairs: only Mukartova/Trankov. Langlois/Hay and Miller/Moram dont belong in an event like that. A 4 throw alone should not make Vise/Trent worthy participients in the event at this point.

Dance: only Davis/White perhaps. Carron/Jost and Cappellina/
LaNotte did nice to take advantage of depleted Skate Canada field, but dont belong in an event like this.

Ladies: Rochette and Miki Ando possibly. Sarah is a bubble option, and since she didnt skate well this GP series I dont mind not seeing her. Ashley is not ready for an event like this at this point.

My goodness but you are harsh!!! Are you now a figure skating judge? Why does Jeff Buttle no longer belong in this event? Oda's skating is "childish"? How so? Langlois/Hay don't belong in this event either? Some pretty harsh statements made here. Based on what? Just your opinion?

What qualifies you to write off skaters who are still out there working hard. I know Jeff may have had a rocky start this season, but hey the season is not over yet and I have seen Jeff pull a rabbit or two out of his hat to end up on the podium. So I would not write him off just yet.

All I can say is thank goodness you are not a skating judge.

While not a fan of Brian I will miss him in the Grand Prix final for this reason...I can't wait to see Johnny, Brian, Stephane, Evan and Daisuke go against each other.

I will miss Sarah. I thought that she would get better placements this season because she looked improved. But it was unfortunate that she had trouble getting the levels and was called for the incorrect edge. I hope that she will be able to address these and place better in Words and the next season because she really seems to be getting better overall.
