Who would coach you?

Just wondering, if you were/are an Olympic eligible skater, who would be your choice of coach in any of the disciplines..

Paris - Moskvina for me.
Singles - Frank Carroll
Dance - not sure.

Although reputation did impact my choices, I also considered my temperment.

For example, I chose Frank over Richard Callaghan and Tarasova because I get the sense that he's somewhat collaborative and expects a level of self-dedication. JMO.

Coach

Pairs-Moskvina. She seems to be able to work and produce results with a variety of skaters.

Singles-Frank Carroll. Again working with a variety of skaters and motivating them.

Dance-Cristopher Dean.

if I were a single skater and would really want to win even though it might take more than a hard work then I would go to Tonya Harding.

Nice choice! I'd probably do the same. But I'd hire someone else to do the choreo. Someone like Terosova.

I would like mature coaches. I don't know much about pedagogy in many coaches. But I felt that Yuna's training environment seemed to be really good. She has the main coach and several other coaches who specialize in different things. She also has Wilson who can help her dance.

Regarding choreographers, I feel that it would be really interesting to work with David Wilson or Tom Dickson. They seem to be very interesting people.

If I were part of a pairs team, I'd go to Bin Yao. I might be biased because I'm Chinese, but he's trained great teams and his story is inspirational.

For pairs, Vassiliev.
For dance, Zazoui or K/N's coaches, Svinin and Zhuk.
For singles, I would want to learn jump technique from Mishin and Kulik and basic skating from Priscilla Hill. For choreography, Tom Dickson.

If I were a singles skater with an artistic talent, but unfortunately having more or less problems with jumping, I´d definetely go to Richard Callaghan. Choreography I would get from Lori Nichol, David Wilson or Nikolai Morozov.

If I were a dancer, I would want to train under Carol Lane at the Scarboro FSC. No, she's not well known, but she does excellent work with so many of the younger Canadian dance teams. I've seen many teams from that school skate at the lower levels and have always been blown away by there polish and technical ability. If not her, Paul MacIntosh in Waterloo. For choreo, I'd go to David Wilson or Dubreuli & Lauzon.

I think I would track down Kristie Ness. I always loved Kristie Yamaguchi's jumps. She was also a very confident skater and she was a good competitor. If I skated I would want to have some of those qualities. My second choice would be Frank Carroll.

Shizuka in her 50's. She seems to be a smart lady, who is good at analytical thinking. But I prefer coaches in mature ages (for me, ideal coaches would be 55-60 yrs old). So I'll wait for her to become 50's while I stay young;)
