Orser said last year that the quads are a short-term or a temporary event.
That wasn‘t very respectful to Sasha‘s achievement as well.

I didn’t know that he said that ... and now he’s saying that Evgenia is going to work on 4S?
Really hoping that Sasha and Anna will do well in seniors next season. The new era is here

I think Medvedeva's chances of landing a clean 4S might be realistic. Her 3S is pretty good and she's been talking about getting more muscles, getting stronger, so she can do more difficult jumps. I'll be curious to see how that goes. She's in good hands so I trust they'll do this wisely.

I remember that Eteri wasn‘t happy with his statement; she thought that a coach, who knows how difficult it is, could show more respect. She said something like „we must have pissed him off, so we must work harder to piss him off even more“

Wait a sec, Orser did not say "quads are a short-term or a temporary event" - how could he say such a blanket statement when his student are jumping quads all over the place?
In the statement you quoted, he was referring to whether a quad by a 14-year old junior (Trusova) would still be there when she's 17 or 18.I wish Trusova's quads would stay! It's marvelous when she does it cleanly. But I cannot stand misrepresentation of what someone said (whoever it may be) :noshake:.

That's exactly why I provided the exact quote and the link to the article in my second post, to avoid misinterpretation. Yes, he meant Trusova's quad last year. After my first post, I realised it may not be clear and that's why provided the context, so please don't accuse me of misinterpretation.
Please note, that my original post was a reaction to someone saying how Raf is envious and Orser is always nice and respectful, which is not the case. Otherwise, I wouldn't have mentioned Orser at all in this thread. But his statement continues to be hypocritical, since Gogolev trains quads from a young age and that's ok, but when Sasha does it, it becomes a "short-lived phenomenon"...

Again, that's not what he said, which was "it could be a very short-lived phenomenon." Those are VERY different things.

Quads can take a long time to stabilize - years! - if ever. Nathan has been doing 4S since he was 15 or 16 and still not 100% on it yet
. I think it’s being somewhat overstated by some that Orser can guide Evgenia safely and successfully to achieve 4S. Junhwan has injury issues and URs (that aren’t always called), it’s not like he’s some kind of miracle worker.

It's going to be incredibly difficult for veteran skaters to try for quads/3A, but there is a motivation to try now that hasn't ever been there before. That changes a lot.

I think people are confident about Evgenia’s 4S because 1. she has a good salchow, it’s probably her best jumps besides the loop; 2. Orser has Ghislain on his side, Javi and Yuzuru have probably the best 4S in the world so it’s as if Evgenia was with the “4S specialists” so to speak. I’m not saying I believe she will get it, but a case can be made for us to believe it’s not impossible for her. Also, Evgenia has stated she will get a strong body to do more difficult jumps. So it seems the necessary steps are being taken in order for her to train quads. It will be interesting to see if she will ever be able to land a quad in competition.
I agree a quad doesn’t simply happen. I’d be shocked if she lands one by the end of next season and if she does I believe it will be a “hit or miss” kind of thing, not a stable and reliable jump.
I guess we can only wait and see.

It's amazing that's she's landing it, even if the rotation is still just a bit off. The confidence to try it in a gala is great. However, this angle isn't the best and I can't see how clear the edge is.
It'll be interesting to see if she lands it in competition next season. Will she beat Rika to be the first female skater to land a quad and a 3A in the same program/competition?

Two months ago, I was sure that the first senior lady with the quad would be Sasha. And now it's Elizabeth. So I would not hurry with such predictions.
