Yu-Na's 3-3 combo at the Olympics

Hopefully Yu-na will be able to land the combination with no problems and have no questionable calls be put out against her...the last anybody needs is drama at the Olympics.

As for Cinquanta, he really crossed the line if he seriously tried to put out a sanction against Yu-na and South Korea.....The girl is already under pressure and doesnt need to be "pushed around"....what a low blow.....

And to the poster who said there's "no disproving that the DG is connected to a backroom deal"...... why don't you start an organization to investigate every questionable DG that is going to happen to skaters and search for all possible traces of backroom deals behind them?

To the contrary, I believe it is just and right to make any questionable DG an issue. Figure skating is a sport, and I truly support fairness as its first and foremost value. I would not trade it with a false peace.

Because MANY OTHER SKATING EXPERTS HAVE SAID SO.

Honestly, if Yuna fans were the only ones coming up with these so called "conspiracy" theories and making "fabricated" videos to post on youtube, then maybe we could say they were overreacting. But when legendary former skaters like Kristi Yamaguchi, Kurt Browning, Midori Ito, Scott Hamilton, Michelle Kwan, etc all say how Yuna's 3-3 were perfect and her flip should not have received edge calls, then it's a different story. I don't think it's a coincidence that Philip Hersh wrote that article either. Frankly, what does he get out from writing that article? He doesn't look Korean to me, and Korea is not even a big ISU sponsoring country either. They only have Yuna Kim, and she used to skate in amusement park ice rink before her huge competition due to lack of support from KSU. So maybe Hersh does think that Yuna is terrific, and he might have really questioned ISU's intentions for forcing Yuna to participate in 4CC.

And to be honest, I think it's preposterous that some people think that because Yuna is "So good," she has to be judged by different judging standards. It's like someone telling you that because you've studied so hard to get As on your report card, you have to receive 130 on your next math test to get an A, when everyone only needs 90.

I don't think its right that certain skaters are held to different standards, but that doesn't mean it doesn't it true.

Wait, hold up. Since when are ANY of the skaters mentioned above technical specialists?

None of them are and I hasn't aware that above mentioned skaters held a conference to discuss the unfairness of Yuna's DG calls...

There was fortune telling session where a group of fans were able to peer into the future and saw the competition and then tossed on their invisiblity cloaks and snuck into a smoky backroom to overhear a grand plot to keep Yuna from her OGM and to ensure Alissa won another US Championship and get Sasha Cohen on the US olympic team... its all very Harry Potter...

I don't like it when people nit-picking on skaters' jumps when they look perfectly fine to a reasonably knowledgable fan's eyes. It's far more exciting to see a very slightly underrotated triple-tripe than a "textbook" triple double, same goes to quad. I hope to see Yu-na and Mao, and other skaters do triple-triples at the olympics. It is just sad that nobody even tried in Torino.

Second, I didn't need a slow-mo replay of Yuna's 3-3 in the GPF SP to see that it was UR, nor did I need it to notice how her flip often went onto an outside edge last year (otherwise she wouldn't have gotten any "e" or "!" marks). Just because the girl gets great height on her jumps, doesn't mean they're always fully rotated (take Emily Hughes for example).

According to the rules, a triple is supposed to be downgraded when it's a full 1/4 revolution underrotated. I'm not an expert, but it seems to me that a jump that's a full quarter turn short should be fairly discernible to the eye on slo-mo replay. With Yu-Na's recent triple-triple, she did finish a part of the rotation on the ice, but it looked--to me, at least--as though she had completed three rotations in the air before coming down, meaning that the rotation on the ice was a slight OVERrotation, not underrotation.

Even if it wasn't, I just don't see how you can say that her second triple was clearly a full 90 degrees short in rotation; any underrotation that may have occurred must have been a lot smaller than that. Again, according to the rules, if a clear rotation call is too tough to make, the skater is supposed to receive the benefit of the doubt. And in this particular call, Yu-Na didn't. Personally, I don't put much stock in the conspiracy theories, but I do believe she got a bad call. Of course, bad calls happen in skating--to ALL skaters--but that doesn't make them right, either, and they should be pointed out.

Look, just because they "had" edge and UR problems, it doesn't mean that they do not know or understand the rules behind the system. You think just because Mao has flutz, she doesn't know what lutz is...??? And we are having these discussions because Yuna's calls were "controversial." Yuna's flips were never "clear outside-edge," and many people say that her 3-3 at GPF were fully rotated. (All the judging panels gave her positive GOE, and even Japanese commentators said her 3-3 was perfect.)

Yuna didn't complain about it; she accepted it and said she just have to be more perfect in the future. It's just her fans..........
