I think yes...![]()
Averbukh basically says that all of this is news for him, but he's not surprised. He says that Eteri has contacted him a year ago saying that their relationship with Yulya is very strained and that she wants to leave. Eteri then asked him to make some programs for Yulya to help her out. And he did just that last season. Also, he says that the only viable coach for Yulya in his opinion would be Morozov. And that there's still a lot of work ahead of Yulya and he's not sure she can handle that kind of work. Can someone translate his interview please
And that there's still a lot of work ahead of Yulya and he's not sure she can handle that kind of work.
Not really... He said that he is not sure who can handle this work (work with Yulia, he means). Not too flattering, either. :sarcasm:Okay! That's great to hear from your choreographer. :sarcasm:
I wasn't sure till now, but Yulia listen to me: The first one to kick out from your life right now is Mr. Averbukh.
Okay! That's great to hear from your choreographer. :sarcasm:

↑"Not all Lipnyata's know russian, and there have been 4/5 links put here without a full translation.
"↑Ilya's interview is very diplomatic with many pros and cons:Can't make much sense with google. Can someone translate his interview please. Thank you.
To be precise, he says that she needs to do a lot of routine monotonous work to improve her skating skills over the years. And he says that she doesn't like that kind of work too much. Maybe I was being too negative with my translation, he doesn't really criticize her all that much.Okay! That's great to hear from your choreographer. :sarcasm:

He did not say that. And that there's still a lot of work ahead of Yulya and he's not sure she can handle that kind of work.
I'm talking about this part: "Над скольжением нужно работать, над связующими шагами, над дорожками шагов. Это очень тяжелая, противная работа, требующая огромной самоотдачи, а результат приходит позже. Черная работа, Юля ее не очень-то любит, но крайне важная с точки зрения будущего". So like I clarified in the post above, he says she doesn't like that kind of boring and hard work that doesn't pay off until later. But yeah, he's not being all that negative, that's not his main point. He did not say that.
He said he is not sure which coach can handle that kind of work at the moment.
He's probably right.

You know, you may be right as I think about it.I'm talking about this part: "Над скольжением нужно работать, над связующими шагами, над дорожками шагов. Это очень тяжелая, противная работа, требующая огромной самоотдачи, а результат приходит позже. Черная работа, Юля ее не очень-то любит, но крайне важная с точки зрения будущего". YES to all of ↑this↑.:thumbsup:How generous of him. I don't think this is the moment to talk about his opinions on her skating skills, and low jumps. Last season he didn't have complains about it. :sarcasm:
As for who's that coach who can work with her? Gachinsky is doing just that, working on SS. Mao started from the scratch working on her jumps. So yes, there are coaches who can work just fine with skaters on anything.
As for for the SS, well don't make me mention names of top skaters who are winning right now with poor SS and transitions, and low jumps. I suppose they don't like to work on these things either. :sarcasm:
Singling her out on these issue, and in this moment is poor taste, at best.
Averbukh doesn't come across very well in that interview, I must say... This, plus him being "too busy" to work on Mulan... well, it's Yulia's choice, but maybe it's a new choreographer she needs more than anything.
