Yulia Lipnitskaya

I went back to the protocols to see her scores. With the two underrotations she lost 3.06 on her BV, and with level 3 in the step sequence and in the layback spin, she lost another 0.9. Her total BV is 33.06. Had she got all level 4s, and no calls, her TES would have been 37.3, with a PCS of 30.24, her final score would be 67.54 - not accounting for aditional GOE in well executed elementes or an increase in PCS.

For now that seems more than fine. Let's remember that her BV is the same as Gracie's short from last season, which scored 76+, and just a bit under Evgenia's BV of 33.10. Her short is clearly a program to get good scores and figure in the top, if clean.

Now waiting for the free tomorrow so we can see the real layout - and hoping she's going to stay on her feet. And if she can, slay!

I really love the program too. The vocals blend with her movements so well and work in perfect harmony.
For me they don't, at least not through the whole program. Her arms are moving too fast comparing to the music, she's elegant and graceful like always, but she's not fully embracing the music. I felt more harmony in test skates, maybe she'll get there with time.
She looks wonderful anyways.

The edge is wrong....it looks like a Lutz

*%^*}{.€^**#}]^:curse:

And that's what surprised me with the layout of the free, with two flips. Even during the warmup at the test skates she was liping, and these weeks of training deepened her edge on the lutz, which probably didn't help on the flip that much. But well, at least she now has a real lutz.

And to add, they gave her two underrotations, but thought the edge on the flip was 'just' unclear. Oh well.

Congrats on the second place. The same story as with Tukt last week, i somehow expected it
It was not her day, more luck next time :hap10:

Congrats on the 2nd place finish! Haven't seen the entire performance yet. But from the protocols at least it seems she didn't fall or pop anything :hap10:

3Lz3T<
3Lo
2S (doubled)
3F<
2A2T2T
3Fe<REP
2A<2T (zayaked, probably was going for 2A3T)

The step sequence near the end of the program needs some major reworking. (It might be a bit too hard and exhausting to pull off a fast/aggressive step sequence after all the jumping passes. IMO 'Goodnight Moon' would've been ideal for a smooth/playful/sultry step sequence.)

BTW is Yulia's back ok? She was clutching her leg and back after the music ended.

At least she didn't fall. I hope she will get rid of 3F and do two 3lz instead at this rate. And she should think of about how to avoid zayak.

Yep, definitely. Replacing one of the 3F with a 3Lz would be ideal. Maybe it would be safer for her to do a 2A3T in the first half, and then go for a 2A2T2T in the second just to be safe...that way if say the 2A3T doesn't go to plan and she doubles it (2A2T), she can pop a 2T at the end of her 3Lz?

Can't she do 2A2T2Lo instead? Leave a margin for error, should she pop her 3T.

For those who managed to watch... Did she really ur those jumps, or was the tech panel strict?

The 3T on the first combo was UR. The flip a bit too. I think, overall she's trying too hard, but I don't fault her for that. I thought she looked like she was going to give her all on the step sequence, but she lost steam at the end too. And of course, as we were talking yesterday, her second flip should go. In fact, I wouldn't even be much mad if she did as little flips as she could right now, because it seems like the jumps giving her much trouble.

If you look at her jumps, the two lutzes she did were clean, and the panel was strict. All three flips had problems with URs, unclear edge and then wrong edge.

The good thing is that she managed to get a level four on the layback, which completes her sets of spins, so I don't see any problem with them.

*oh, I said a lot
