Have they ever listened to Yulia? Remember when she missed the awards ceremony? She told us, but the theories continued on and on. People like to bark. It is outrageous and it hurts her. The last part may be changing. Speaking of change, I have thought about changing my thread name to ListenToYulia. What do you think, Fayruza?
It appears nothing has happened. Just rumours about Yulia leaving Eteri to CSKA, but she has now denied them.Awww, how cute.

It's not a date, it's a short period. They said we've been asking people to make the choreo for her two programs. They were struggling to find a choreo. She partecipated Worlds J. in 2013 and won silver medal. That was 25 Feb. - 3 March 2013. When was she supposed to leave her, or FS altogether as nonim suggested, March, April? When did they chose the programs? I suppose once you choose the programs you have settled whatever you need to settle?
Do you have a date, or a short period, when she wanted to leave Eteri?

Ilia Averbukh also gave an interview which may-or-may-not be insulting (I'm neutral on this one).
How about all through that unfortunate season? Right after it? .
Again, it was mentioned by Eteri in one of the documentaries about Yulia last year, and now it's supported by Ilya. I just don't see what makes you so unhappy about this.

I read that damn article myself. In Russian. There's nothing insulting in it.
Reading about what he said I don't really find any faults with what he said except for the parts about itemizing the list of "faults" such as small jumps and poor SS. While they may be true, not to me, though, I completely agree with those who said he should not have mentioned those things in the current situation.
I had hoped Yulia would compete at that Russian Cup? competition in February that way she would have time to finish any exams or other things going on and hopefully relax at that competition. If she did fantastic maybe she can go to Worlds if not hopefully she could skate two good programs.
If Yulia wants to start again next year I will be counting down the days. I wanted to see her FS clean though because even with the mistakes marring it, it was truly beautiful and I believe that clean even some of her detractor would have to admit that it was pretty incredible.
An that's what I said too, if you can pay more attention to what I wrote. I just said that I do not believe that she was going to leave her, or FS, after chosing the programs. Because once you choose your programs it means you are already settled for the upcoming season. It's just my opinion on this because it doesn't make sense.
Was Eteri specific about the period? I'm disputing Ilya's word on this about the timing, on how he come on board, not that she never thought about leaving Eteri, anytime during that season. Can't you see the difference? I'm just trying to "stick to facts" that we have.
I'm not that unhappy about this, anyway. Don't worry about me, but since uhh wanted to know why I thought he was not telling the truth I replied. Does that bother you?
What he said is that Julia is delicate, and she doesn't have flying high jumps - it does not directly follow her jumps are necessarily ' tiny'. And that she has to work on her skating skills, strokes etc. What's so insulting about that?
Sorry, Alba, but did she have to? Within the context of a documentary to state times? For crying out loud, this is taking it too far - just because you want to believe Ilya's necessarily lying.
You shoud speak to the people who did the translation then. I thought they were russian speakers.
If yours is the correct one, I do apologise to Ilya publicaly, and to all those who felt offended, and so unhappy, with my comments.
No, not because I want to believe that, but because the timing is important in order to understand. The meaning of what he said is completely different because of the timing.

I didn't find it offending, I just don't like it when someone's not allowed to speak their minds. Skaters, coaches, choreographers, experts - whoever.

- and say that he would rather remember how he could hardly find time to work at Yulia's programs because he is ever busy with his ice shows...Well, his interview is not directly insulting, but it does sound somehow mean in the general impression. I agree about the not perfect time and place (when journalists were on fire bashing Yulia, in the same way as it had been after Shanghai) and about too intense focusing on her problems - he didn't say "she should improve this or that" but he said "I don't know who could take such amount of work" (as if Yulia is a walking problem in general :sarcasm. Or about "grunt work" - well, as many people point out, it's a big difference between not liking and not doing. If she doesn't like this work but does it, why is it worth mentioning at all?? And many people would understand (or would prefer to understand) such a formulation as if she doesn't do this work properly... In general, I must say that many Russian speakers commenting his interview at the Russian boards, agree with your opinion about his interview

Though, in general, I can't say that I dislike Averbukh, I treat him rather neutrally, and big thanks to him for Yulia's SL program, anyway. But I'm not surprised about him giving such an interview - he seems to be that type of a person who would choose to be "in trend"... Some people express an opinion that he is thinking in terms of show business, rather than in terms of sport nowadays...
Well, we don't know the timing to start with. It's not as if there could be only one telephone call, if it comes to that.
And Ilya isn't making himself into a saviour: he just states he's heard about these ideas before. The idea was exactly what it is now - that Julia wanted to retire.
I didn't find it offending, I just don't like it when someone's not allowed to speak their minds. Skaters, coaches, choreographers, experts - whoever.
Now Voitsekhovskaya seems to have an fixed idea about Julia's mum - she's ready to blame her no matter what. Not the first time she's written on the subject.
hwell:The worst thing is that she doesn't seem to enjoy skating as much as she enjoys riding horses, instance.![]()
