That's excellent news indeed! He's the right choreographer for her, and she's a perfect skater to bring his creations to the ice. They both embody that inward, lyrical, spiritual (not in the religious sense) style. I can't wait to see it!

And now I'm very curious who'll be the choreographer of her second program. (I understood from the posts here that Lambiel would be doing one of her programs.)
 
Serafima mentioned Yulia in a recent interview in a very positive way.

It might work for a season, but after that narcissism kills an athlete completely. I think people like a normal person more than a narcissistic hero. For example, everybody likes Yulia (Lipnitskaya) because she's just a normal person you can easily approach.

I'm sooo nervous and curious to see what Lambiel will choreography for Yulia. I can't imagine the program will be easy...AT ALL.....I'm expecting transitions, transitions, arms/hands, face/attitude, some throw-in hairography, more transitions, craaaaazy fast footwork, SPINS.....and most importantly for Stephane's choreography to work to its highest potential Yulia will need to be on-her-music. Can't wait to see what they cook up!:party:
 
Why Lambiel? seriously he did a terrible job with Liza.

Theoretically it could be better this time because Yulia is similar to Lambiel's style but i don't know... we will see it.

Have you seen Lambiel's interview about that? When asked about the choreo and how much of it she actually used he replied with something along the lines of 'well, she kept same music'. So it wasn't really his fault that the programs seemed bit undone IMO. Plus Liza is very different type of skater.

Well what happened to Liza was also because of Liza herself and her coaching team too. I think her style just doesn't click with Lambiel.
But Yulia's style will work well with Lambiel I think.
 
and don't forget the wonder he has done with Denis Ten and Tatsuki Machida :agree:

Agree. Stephan also hinted that Liza's program was 'edited' by Mishin's team.

Yes but he said also that it was a little difficult for him to teach her new movements, she never got it (or did it in her own way) so it makes me believe that maybe he's not that good at teaching.

Also i don't know about Urmanov, maybe he's more "open minded", but in general Russian coaches are a little self-centered: they know how to keep you at the top but their way is the only way to go, so the choreographer has to create something good not just for the skater but also for the coach. (e.g David Wilson said that about Galina Zmievskaya)

I think Stephane's style would be harder for some skaters to adapt to than others, it depends on the skater and what he/she is comfortable with...and also as you pointed out 'the coach', who out of his/her best intentions may suggest that the choreography be changed and/or sacrificed to protect his/her skater from potentially underperforming a program that's too difficult or risky for competition. It could work both ways....Urmanov changed the (jump) layouts in The Devil In Disguise and Leningrad in order to maximise on points and increase technical difficulty, the program's composition was rearranged but the 'feel' of the program(s) remained more or less intact.

I'm curious to see how well Yulia will adapt to Stephane's style of movement, as much as Stephane (hopefully) tailoring his choreography to Yulia's strengths (and her ideas/suggestions)....so long as both are up for the challenge and are comfortable with the end product. :agree:.....It is a collaborative process after all. :dance3::party2:
