Yulia Lipnitskaya

A part of me still hopes that she will change her free program..dont get me wrong kill bill is good but i think it suits better to exhibition shows..if Yulia's team wants a shot to finals they should give her programs that will captivate the audience especially the judges, something like SL or close to it..And kill bill is kind of fast that she looks laboured by the end of it..they need a slower music..

For me they don't, at least not through the whole program. Her arms are moving too fast comparing to the music, she's elegant and graceful like always, but she's not fully embracing the music. I felt more harmony in test skates, maybe she'll get there with time.
She looks wonderful anyways.

She does exaggerate as you say. In this case she may be right to do so. The mood of the composition is melancholy, but the interpretation she skates to is light and up-tempo. The musicians have taken full poetic license to alter the character of Leaves so that mood of the composition does not match their interpretation, it's musical transvestism. Yulia is taking liberty to push it a little further in the same direction. From this perspective her movement fits, which is likely why jazz fans enjoy it. If you want to hear what Kosma the composer intended, here is the original https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvQYlgehEh0 Begin at 20:50 and listen till the end of the video, including credits. Also the first 5 minutes. This respectful performance has Yulia written all over it. I can only imagine the magic she would have created with its poignant hypnotic atmosphere.

OMG! I totally LOVE this picture. I love the costume and I love her.

@cold: I agree with everything you said. Although I have decided to not give a beep about technicalities anymore. I am just enjoying my favorites skating as long as it last. Life is too short for me to bother with those things anylonger.:hap10:

Yulia would encourage you. She would thank you. I certainly do. She continues to develop artistically in spite of the technical challenges. The non-technical sections of Leningrad were performed with uniquely artistic sophistication. The off-the-ice Schindler's List from last week was superior artistically to the version she skated at Sochi. It seems quite overdone when we have to freeze-frame to decide whether some jump has a certain edge. Unfortunately her career and identity depend on it.

She's lacking stamina. Could barely stay on her feet during late step sequence and spin. :scowl:

To be on top in tourneys, your body needs to survive two consecutive days of trainings, warm-ups and performing - with second day even more crucial than the first. Those girls are physical freaks of nature - I don't know many sports where athlete has to perform day after day on such extreme and exhausting level of athleticism as in figure skating.
They have to be fresh before LP like the short didn't even happen. Crazy, but real.
Until Julia steps up in athletic department, she won't be able to cope with other issues like jumping technique, edges, choreo, performance, etc..

Yulia is in the best condition of her life. She says even her masseur has complimented her. She has repeated many times that the problem is psychological. Yesterday on her Ask she said she is afraid to jump. Her comment was posted after the Kill Bill performance. Her recovery is going to be difficult and slow. She deserves our unflinching support for the courage and dedication demanded of her.

From a purely selfish standpoint, I'm glad it's going to be slow, and I hope she can endure it until she gets to the best she can be. More time for us to see her blooming.

And finally she has found the serenity to make it possible. How long has if been since we have heard her talk about quitting? answer: about 10 months

I"m not yet sold on Kill Bill, it's very early days, but I admire the concept. I just hope she continues to work hard and trust in what she and Alexei are doing. I truly wish for her to do well and show what she is capable of now that she is an adult. It's not an easy road to come out the other side after all the scrutiny she's been under, but she did not give up. She's going to get better.

My friends, who will go to Skate America ?
Usually we are (Julia's fans from Russia) go from Moscow with the banner for support Julia to every her start, but we can't do it now - nobody can't go from Moscow to Chicago. And it will be really important start for her, it will be not good if nobody don't put her banner in stadion.
Who may and want help us? We will send our banner to USA by DHL.

I will be there if you would like help!

I'll also be at Skate America, I will be at the arena first thing on Thursday morning for practices, if you need any help with the banner.

^Yulia failed to get a record breaking score with her LP in her competition last week, and she *gasp* didn't even get 1st place. Therefore, her program sucks, and she sucks, and she should change her program or just quit cause she's such a loser.

Meanwhile, Elena Radionova, Elizaveta Tuktamysheva, Alena something, and Serafima Sakanovich all have glorious masterpiece programs all the time, and have never had subpar seasons...so there's never a need to mention them.

I'll never forget how Lakernik said in 2014 that Julia is a subpar Olympic champion comparing to Adelina.

LOL....I'm assuming the feds mean well. *nods furiously*:unsure:

Well, the decision is up to Yulia whether or not she want to change her LP or not. Girl's got more than enough brains and balls to make her own decisions and carry it through. Personally, I'd rather she skate to (or give her best try at) something that SHE likes or is interested in...rather than something catered to the wants, needs and preferences of fans/feds/judges.

Well, don't scare the people  Someone who doesn't read in Russian may not get the irony...

But Lakernik is a jerk, indeed. :disapp: He said that the program sucks and that it doesn't meet Yulia's goals and that she should change it. :rolleye: I also hope that Yulia and Urmanov have enough guts to hold their ground, as to change the program now would be madness...
