Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

from everything that I'm reading it seems that this surgery is minimally invasive which is good to hear

And I found it quite cute that a few fans have consulted their mother (all doctors) regarding Yuzu's situation , based on info available from the news. General feedback is things shall be fine as long as Mr. Hanyu listens to his doctor and rest as instructed. Of course such diagnoses can't be 100% accurate but doesn't sound like something too alarming!

Well, for sure he will loose some strength but how much I don't know, with good diet he can hold his muscles in good shape I think, he will have about nearly 2 months totrain before Worlds, so with hard training I am sure he can get back to form

And tbh I don't think that month of rest = month of laying in bed  it's not that severe so I am quite sure he will be able to do some very light training on some of his muscles

I misunderstood and thought it meant 1 month no exercise at all...thank you for clarify!! Than if he can do light training maybe it won't be so difficult :hopelessness: I hope so. I'm sure he will have the best care, and maybe this time for him to rest will be good for him.:)

I see there are pros and cons for this forced resting period: he's gonna lose muscles and have to find the feeling of his jump back; but the 6-weeks rest will also give his back and ankle some more time to recover from the intense training in the past month.

Good point;)

Aw man. I woke up like 20 minutes ago and I checked my notifications on my phone. One of my friends DMed me on Twitter what happened. I woke up right away.

I'm glad Yuzuru is getting the treatment he needs and the rest he needs. And I'm really glad he's not doing the 4CC.

This definitely makes me sad for him. As someone pointed out earlier, so many injuries to him. And this is just one more thing that makes us crazy in a bad way.

He might lose strength but let's not forget that muscle memory is a power thing. I once went 7-8 weeks without doing a back handspring or harder. Then I did it and it still felt good. Not the best but good. So hopefully muscle memory will be his best friend.

I'm definitely sending my well-wishes and prayers to Yuzuru for a smooth and really good recovery. And to be back in full force once the recovery period is over.

I'm shocked !
It tooks that he had a lot of pain to have rest for a real complete month ! It is unbelievable. I cannot imagine how he was able to skate with pain during all the previous months. By dint of squeezing him like a lemon, it gives this situation.

There is not piano sheet right?

I don't know, probably not ... I think they figured it out by ear. Maybe you can search for sheets at internet or guess by the video only? I don't if it's possible, I just played some keyboard when i was little but didn't go any further, so I don't know.

There's a bunch more videos, examples:

Notre Dame piano version.

PW by keyboard.

R&J 1.0 piano.

Hana ni Narae piano. (Wish the audio was with a better quality, this is my favourite)

R&J 2.0 piano.

Etc.

--------------------------------------

I wish Yuzuru a fast recovery, I'm glad that it isn't a very serious problem. Get well soon! :) https://pbs.twimg.com/media/B6EAsHFCUAAjmZY.jpg

I was so shocked about Yuzuru's surgery that completely forgot about this. Thanks a lot ;)

^I know you can get plenty in Japan as I have bought one for guitar but I don't know how you can get them overseas.

Will this work? You can see different versions on the recommend list on the side, too.
花は咲く=Hana wa Saku, ピアノ=piano, 楽譜=score sheet. might be helpful ;)

You know, not to ruin this, but in the back of my mind, when I heard he was hospitalized for abdominal pain, I wondered, "Will he have to have surgery?" Unfortunately my wondering was proven correct.

Again, I hope Yuzuru will have a smooth and complication-free recovery.

And I hope muscle memory will be his best friend.

Looks like more fans will be getting replies from Yuzuru in the next few months  Thank you everyone for all the fast updates and news

I'm hoping he listens to the doctors and don't over exert himself, best not to aggravating an injury/wound and prolonging the healing time. So happy to hear its not a chronic issue. Wishing him a fast and easy recovery!

My mind refuses to stop thinking about his surgery... best wishes, PLEASE YUZU, stay put and get better soon!

 It feels like a nightmare, all these things happening in one year. Perhaps all the powers of the universe do disapprove of an Olympic champion skating directly the next season.

What makes me worried is that, he had endured the pain ever since GPF but he didn't check it until after he finished GPF. He didn't do the gala show which means his condition was too weak. I am just amazed that he could even skate that well in the free skate, except the 4S all those jumps were top notch quality. He did look quite subdued in the SP, though. The sign of his poor condition had always been there. :hopelessness:

But nevertheless he will celebrate New Year in hospital now. Rare experience for him. Maybe the doctors and nurses will lecture him every, though. Wish him the best luck at Worlds in Shanghai because I know he will go there. :slink:

Sorry if it's a dumb question, but where do you send fan mail?
you can send mails to JSF, they will forward your mails to Yuzuru.
