They will have a press con today so we will soon know who other team members are assigned to WTT.

I don't mind whoever thy sent. Murakami and Shoma are also sensible choice. But I saw a doc shared yesterday of who qualified for WTT. Only yuzu and mura's name are on it. I don't know how they calculate points though.

I wish with all my heart that we will be able to see kanaka compete at least once more. But her name is not that qualified athlete list...it seems they only pick up the top 2 singles.

Is Kanako retiring? Why do you say once more?

Mura has trauma and is worn out. It would be more efficient if they send Murakami or Shoma. I wouldn't mind to see Kozuka too but he must be worn out as well.

Well, she has been saying this since Sochi. In the wc special made by Fuji for her, she said she is not very sure. It depends on her feeling after wc. Then after the disappointing wc, she told the reporter she needs to talk to her coach to decide whether to retire or not. So delicate situation here.

Mostly like Sochi's team event. Each team will be awared point based on placement

Most likely, but from what I heard WTT is more of a competition for fun so training coachless wont be that bad here, but Yuzu is so competitive idk what to expect! I wonder if Nam will compete for Canada?

It's more that there's a higher chance of him injuring himself if he's training coachless.

Well, to our boy training hard and skating well to win the game is fun; other than that, no fun at all.

No? First of all- I bet he wants to go himself to have the final great skate. And you can't really say no to him- he deserves the chance. And he's the Team Japan leading skater, he is obliged to compete unless he's totally unavailable.

It's my understanding looking at the skaters who qualified for WTT that only Hanyu and Mura qualified for WTT according to the official ISU page. If Japan wants to do well Hanyu's their best bet.
