Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Another tiny piece of information regarding the LP...what is off-season if not speculation??

Just saw that the new ice shows in Nagaoka were sold out 2 hrs after the announcement of Hanyu-san's participation...apparently it's a small rink and even the "bad seats" are super close.

Forgive me if this has been shared before, but was watching a DVR recording of NBC's coverage of WC and noticed something I missed during the livestream (not sure if shown) and the originally aired NBC broadcast. Prior to a commercial break before his FS, a clip was shown where Yuzuru takes off his jacket, Kikuchi-san steps forward offering to take it but Yuzu slightly shakes his head then hands his jacket to Brian instead. I was extremely moved by this gesture, as was Brian, judging by his smile. IMO this seemed like Yuzuru's way of quietly asserting just who his coach is and giving him his deserved respect. Although, I adore Yuzuru's skating, these little moments where he shows his genuine nature never fails to impress. Such a good boy!

On topic, LOVE most of Yuzu's costumes...

I also loved the WL one, but I also adored the Etude SP one. I'd love to see something like that again. Maybe with a fire theme?

As for J's style, they both have muscles, but are slender with a bit more curves than other male skaters. That's partly why I think this style works with Yuzuru, but I can't imagine it working for Javi or Joshua, for example.

I sincerely hope that will never happen on Javi

That would be one amazing sight. I would love for Yuzuru to have an all-black costume, maybe with black sequences to bling it up a bit. He has had a black costume before for his Bolero programme when he was a junior, but I would love to see him in black again.

That'd look pretty nice! Or maybe something like the pw costume in 12/13 season, a bit of grayish black look nice too!

So Yuzu and Kana hang out together again! This time, backstage at WTT. Kimura Takuya mentioned that he chatted for a while with Yuzukana at WTT backstage. He praised Yuzu for his great performance and he said he likes Kanako’s smile which reminds him of his daughter in his new drama “I’m home”.

If someone could do a most complete detail about what he said about Yuzuru and Kana I would really apreciate it

From what I know, some people drink water that has been charged by either gold, copper, silver or iron. They usually place these items in a container, boil them and filter them before drinking. Some companies sell bottles with 'charged' iron/gold/steel and sell them for bio-magnetic health purposes. Although, I don't know any scientific evidence behind these methods.

Very thin gold leaf is used. Gold leaves are used for cooking as well, and some kinds of sake contain gold leaves for festivals, anniversaries, etc.

I didn't know that charged water thing either. I was quite sure that the water Yuzuru was drinking was same as the making of Sake. But now I'm thinking that you are right. The water might be that one.

I think his a bit superstitious tendency might be from his mother. I guess his mother believed that the water might be good for her son's body as he was too little at that time to have such information. He said in an interview before with Matsuoka san that his mother liked power stones or that kind, and he was using them too. In another interview he said he and his mother are alike very much for both their looks and personality (he laughed they quarel frequently because of that ). So, it is likely that they have the same tendency. But please just note this is just my personal impression and not a criticism at all either. Japanese people including me are somehow a bit superstitious and love lucky charms, although we believe in science on the other hand. Paradox, yes it really is
