I wish Yuzu would wear his practice pants for competition. That pants really show off his looooong shapely legs

Hope everyone is ok in Japan after the earthquake of tonight/today... :(

What earthquake? Which city/state was affected?

edit...oh no, it was Mao's hometown of Nagano. Reports says damages is worse than first reported. Praying for all those affected.:cry:

It was in Nagano, and it happened overnight. I believe they said it was a 6.0-7.0 magnitude

I hope everyone is safe....the property damage seems to quite extensive...

Joining you in praying for all those affected.

Dear all, please help, does anyone knows how to purchase the tickets of next year world championship in Shanghai for non chinese? Sorry, it might sound stupid. I am chinese and I am finally successfully bought the tickets but I have met one Yuzu fan who eagers to watch Shanghai world championship as well. I always thought there should be another reasonable channel to buy the tickets for foreigners than ours, because that formal website is only in Chinese and even for us not easy to buy tickets from it. But the Yuzu fan had to buy ticket from the same website in Chinese. I have accompanied her for about 3 hours last week to explain what does each page mean but in the end she still cannot pay the tickets. It seems foreign bank card is not accepted. Then I wonder how all of you buy the tickets? Please do let me know. I will pass the information to that Yuzu fan. Because I have tried to call in the website of selling tickets, but I cannot call in. Thank you so much!

Hello, there. I used to follow this thread before but I didn't introduce myself then. So I would like to say thank you for all interesting comments, links and everything. I am so looking forward to see Yuzuru at NHK despite all the fear and anxiety about his health. Because if it is only a small event as Plushy says, though it is taken as more important in Japan, it will be a good tryout run for Yuzuru and keep him motivated (even if he can't make it for final) until national. I would only be happy to see him soon and never be disappointed if his performance is not on the usual level. But I'm still wondering if he could get around 160 points for his FP without quads (and around 85 points for SP as we saw at COC), given his skating skills and expressions have been so much improved now. The total of 245 might be a lot of points enough to take him to his happy B.D. final. :p
That being said, does anyone know who will compete if he should withdraw? Should someone have already been invited to wait for an opportunity? Thank you in advance.

JSF will wait until the last minute. Yuzuru can compete or withdraw right before the competition starts if he wants. It seems they don't think of a substitute skater.

He can get much more than 160 without any quad if skated clean. The key is if he will change his approach and realise his goal which is GPF not NHK. So don't try quads at NHK where it is not needed, and take NHK very easy almost like practice with just triples

That would be interesting to see Yuzuru skate with nothing but triples... I doubt he would :) knowing his personality

Also, I've always thought his triples were really nice-looking compared to some of the other skaters, usually a nice running edge/softness in his knees.

Well, the problem if that knowing Yuzuru is he gets to the event there is no way he is withdrawing.

And I don´t think they have an skater that can qualified, Mura, Kenji, Tatsuki and Takahiko all got their 2 GP assigment and Riuchi isn´t qualified. Oda and Daisuke are retired and Shoma is still in Jr. So no one to take the place anyway.

Well, there's always Ryuji Hino :p But its understandable that JSF would give him all the time he wants to decide considering he's their $$ maker now.

Oh sorry I wrote Riuchi, I mean Ryuji, someone said in the Team Japan thread that he didn´t get an assigment because he didn´t qualified.
