Anyway, I am from Hong Kong but I study in England and a lot of less-acceptable-to-English-people Chinese food isn't available here either. Actually only such a small fraction is, even though there's a bustling Chinatown. So sad.

I think the quotes attributed to Brenda Irving actually come from Carol Lane (she's the one with the English accent.) After Carol said that she hasn't seen anyone as naturally gifted on the ice as Yuzuru, she paused and said "maybe Patrick Chan," whereupon Kurt declared that Patrick is the "bigger skater." 
When I was in college I worked in a high end department store where many Japanese tourists came to shop. When I asked if they needed help they always answered, "No, just rooking." They were the nicest, sweetest customers.
I'm sure there are plenty of fresh chickens in Canada just like here in the US. As another poster pointed out, we are told eating raw egg is a no-no because of the bacteria present before cooking. We are warned not to eat any batter containing raw egg (cookies, cakes) due to the possibility of getting sick. I think this is why so many of us cringe when thinking of eating raw egg over rice. Yuck!

Kurt of course is entitled to his opinion, but I think no one can dispute that Yuzuru has made great strides in the area where Patrick is the acknowledged benchmark (speed, skating skills). During the FS warm-up, Carol in fact noted Yuzuru's stroking and how effortlessly he can build up speed. Kudos to Yuzuru and Tracy Wilson, his coach in this department.
As it's a very busy time for me right now, I really appreciate this thread as a place to be updated on all things Yuzuru. Thanks to everyone for generously sharing links, translations, insights.

It's not the first time he implies that. You can also hear him saying "oh, please" when Carol says Yuzuru is in the league of his own It's understandable. He's Canadian, he's a friend of Patrick(and Patrick has not retired) and, after all, he's human like the rest of us and has his own preferences. Nope, he definitely meant Patrick is more well-rounded.
Patrick is the more well rounded skater, one can acknowledge that despite their own preferences. I prefer Yuzuru because of a serie of reasons, my own reasons, but I can see why Patrick is considered the bigger skater.Sure, no doubt. But it was his choice to mention it.
