Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Same guy, 3 years apart. http://i.imgur.com/VPfETIB.jpg
I felt like a parent...:drama:

He's really growing up isn't he?

Some fans from facebook posted this again

The 'Road to 2018' text really messes with my head, lol. He JUST won the Olympics this year and now the next Olympics are already being pushed. Such pressure.

The part in the CBC fluff with what Bryan had to say at the end, I couldn't help but think whether it was a remark aimed at JSF. Maybe not but still I'm under the impression that it was

I agree! That was my first thought too, but maybe it was directed at everyone involved - even Yuzu because didn't Orser say he needs to learn to say no? I don't think it was mean to be rude just a 'see? I told you so' moment he couldn't resist.

Yuzuru is 20yo now, he's an adult, I will hold him responsible in his action. If he doesn't listen to his team and decides to just do all the shows because he can't say no, then IMO it's his fault and his fault alone.

This is a deja –vu!! please pardon the recidivous kid!!!

Yuzuru started not listening to his team since he was 17 , training by himself late at night or secretely practicing quads before 2013 Worlds … actually he has been the responsible coach of himself since April 2014, recovering and reaching his best FS TES ever in Spain, then IMO it’s his merit and his merit alone..:points:

Joking aside, It will be be quite interesting if sport psychologists investigate the psychological mechanisms that led Yuzuru to such an umpredictable personal resurrection and success after the horrible nightmare he went through at COC...

they would probably write a treatise about it :laugh2:

Here are the GPF videos I've uploaded to my DM account:
- NBC Yuzu FS, NBC fluff
- CBC Yuzu FS, CBC fluff, Kurt & PJ's predictions before the competition
- British ESP recap ver of Yuzu's SP & FS, the commentary is different from the live broadcast version

Johnny...:rofl::rofl: He certainly spices up NBC's coverage.

Both Yuzu an Javi were quite adorable in those interviews. They've got to be two of the nicest guys on the GP circuit.

Thank you very much! It's too bad that CBC and NBC did not air the short programs for any of the men.
Thank you dasani! Yep it's a shame that there isn't any CBC or NBC commentary for the short programs. I would have loved to hear what they would have said about Yuzuru's SP sighs

Yes the amount of coverage we get from CBC and NBC is quite sad. I think for this whole GP Series, NBC only allocated 2 hours for each competition! Actually for the GPF I was quite surprised that they shown all the men free program! I was expecting just to get the top 3 given the limited time. But alas, that's at the expense of other disciplines, they didn't even show one program from the Shibs...which I was quite sad about.

For CBC, they only showed both the SP and FS for the Skate America and Skate Canada (broadcast by TSN) competition...then I don't know what happened afterwards. Oh well, at least you get 4 hours of coverage per competition instead of 2.

thanks!! not only for yuzuru's nut also for javi's, its harder to find javi's programs with other commentaries :cheer:
I tried to post all the Javi programs that I can manage to record, mainly from CBC/NBC/ESP.

I was soooo hoping to see Tracy interviewing Yuzu at the NBC coverage!! (because i had a blast watching Yuzu struggled with his English interview with PJ:laugh:) Oh well, they let him go easy instead >_<

And welcome to all the new posters on this forum:cheer2:

I imagine Yuzu and the other skaters are making their way to Nagano today or tomorrow so they can get in gear for Nationals...soooo exciting! I'm as nervous for Yuzu doing nationals as I am when he does other BIG competitions. It's going to be tough out there.

It's kind of embarrassing because all my friends and family are excited for Christmas and I'm sitting here jittering for Japanese Nationals XD

Hahaha, same! As much as I love to celebrate Christmas, I'm super excited for the Japanese Nationals to happen (and see Yuzu skate)! Can't wait! ;)

Don't worry I'm also like that >< all I can think about are japanese and russian nationals , Christmas who?

CBC podcast of the GPF
You need to be in Canada or have a VPN to listen though :(
They talk about Yuzu's AMAZING jump technique. Kurt totally fangirls his jumps. :laugh2:

Oh absolutely 😁 I gave him a pass when he was still 17-19 because he was still a "teenager" even though I thought he was actually very mature for his age. Yes, for me, he deserved all the praise for his amazing comeback the same way he deserved critism for his not-so-smart decision 😁

Yes, it would be great if there's a study about Yuzuru's steel of mind, I would buy that book, because it defied logic for me, too amazing..

Hello, welcome! :) And I agree. I don't think we can say anything for sure and we all know how Yuzuru is anyways (hardworking, always grateful). I do think there is a possiblity that JSF may factor into it, but again, nothing is certain.

Thank you 😊😊 Yes, I agree.. many things may factor into it, but in the end I believe they will make the best decision to keep Yuzuru healthy & happy to make sure that he'll be even more successful in the future.

Yes...JSF is unlikely to sabotage their biggest star on purpose...however, these shows Hanyu does are his way of giving back to the fans. He feels responsible, and he said so, to thank as many as possible for their support. Since he can't do that during competitions as he's trying to concentrate, he does it during the summer time with the shows.
I hope he can find some kind of balance so that it doesn't hurt his training time and doesn't stress his body out too much. It is his responsibility now to decide what is best for himself.

Count me in as someone who is looking forward to Japan Nationals more than Christmas...:hopelessness:Crossing my fingers that there will a stream available somehow...PLEASE!! I need to witness the bloodbath live!

I'm sure his fans (if they are real fans) would rather he take care of himself and his training than do one show after another all summer long and not be ready for the competitive season.

Same with Russian Nationals, haha. And they're both this week :drama:

I still can't believe the two most intense Nationals competitions are going to be held at the same time :bang: I don't even know how I'm going to get through this week oh dear.

Btw does anyone have the link to all the NBC videos of the GPF? I found Yuzuru's FS but I couldn't find anyone else's...

Okay so apparently this cellphone thing...that gossip magazine totally took things out of context! It came from a conversation during the press con when he said he had not report his win to his family and his coaches/teachers yet, citing fatigue and time constraint. Then the reporter caught up with him after the press con and asked him if he really has not said anything to them.(I don't know why they were so hung up on this...). He said:" I don't have a cellphone. So even if I want to I can't, right? I only have an ipod."

And the magazine then went on to write about how he wants a cellphone from that remark...:slink:
