I think that him serving some fedora realness is hilarious I don't know why but I can't stop laughing looking at these. It's also adorable tough.

It's really hard to explain in words what it is about Hanyu's jumps that are so easy on the eyes. I think if you have ever seen footage of Michael Jackson dancing when he was in his prime it is something quite similar. Everything is precise, lightning fast, and done magically with a look of ease. It isn't anything that can be coached outside of the basics but the separating factor to me is a noticeable personal touch that they have each put on something so familiar. I guess the best way to say it is that plain and simple ..... it is like electricity. You can't change what it is but you can decide where it goes and how to shape the path that it uses to get there.

Can you tell I like his jumps

Well for one, he doesn't take FOREVER to launch his jumps. He just ups and goes. That's how jumps are supposed to be launched. He rotates really quickly and has beautiful knee landings.

I've recorded the file for those who can't access the CBC site.  The original CBC podcast used the Canadian pairs team medalist as the background picture...so I changed it to include all senior medalists on my uploaded file instead XDD

Kurt :I don’t understand Yuzu’s feet. Patrick Chan, from Canada, I can get Patrick, I get his power and I can understand... sometimes he gets power from moves that I am amazed at, but I can understand it, because I can SEE IT HAPPENING. And truly Christopher Dean, there are very few skaters I would compare to Patrick Chan, very few.
But Yuzuru Hanyu is in his own tiny little way, special as well, in that he gets power and speed, .. power... and you know what? I wouldn’t use “power”, he’s just fleet of foot. Scott Hamilton always skitters like a waterbug across the ice. But you could see it happening.  I don’t know how Yuzu does it. He has this way of just gaining speed and momentum and power but he’s special. He’s just very special. 

Someone said today “custom-built for jumping”. Some thing today in his programs, i was just.. it was kind of like I saw jumping for the first time again. And I got all fan-like on the air, and I got all crazy, because the take-off, the flow through the air, the rotation, and then the landing, are like an artist.

PJ :I love his landing edge, I just love his posture, I love the way that back outside edge flows, 

Kurt :Not too sharp a corner, it’s on a big radius,( hello everyone in Japan) which is on a big circle, and he somehow can do all of that with low shoulders, long neck (he has a naturally long neck anyways) but low shoulders and no upper body stress whatsoever.
The right shoulder stops the rotation, essentially, when you jump the way he jumps, in that direction. The right shoulder is in charge of stopping things... But the right shoulder is just.. there. There’s no effort. It’s a level of jumping skill, that Baryshnikov, in ballet everyone went “When Barysh jumps, its JUST DIFFERENT”.  And when Yuzu jumps IT”S JUST DIFFERENT.

So adorable! I'm in the minority of liking this costume Yuzuru is slowly corrupting the younger generation. What do we have now? the etude SP(couple of versions), the R&J1(actually I cant remember if the guy that did the program also had the same costume), now NDP, I guess PW(did someone do this?) and RJ2 are next Maybe someone will go hipster and do yellow Paganini

There's also this skater called Carlo Vittorio Palermo who is a certified fan of Yuzuru, and the color gradation of his short program top reminds me a bit of Chopin outfit but maybe it's just in my head. That's it, maybe I'm missing something.

I guess this is not a matter of Johnny Weir designing it, it's about Yuzuru himself being very especific of how he wants his costumes As far as I know Chopin costume wasn't designed by Johnny.
