The judges may be strict but I don't see the purpose of being strict on spin levels and step sequence levels. These levels should be more objective and it isn't great for Japanese judges to be marking them down on their levels when they would be getting higher internationally, if they are actually doing so to prevent criticism of favouritism or National inflation. Heck, what's the point of giving both Tatsuki and Yuzuru such scores for their programs when they would definitely be getting much higher scores for the same programs in international competition?
Beats me. But look at Russian Nationals, even is you inflate the score international palete will be harder, so maybe they want to send the skaters a message to work harder?
Or maybe they just want more
Maybe that's why he has had so many problems with his 3Lz oh dear. But it's weird. I don't think that's the only reason. He's worked on his 4S but he's never had any major problems with his 3S...
i wonder how he could lose levels for all 4 elements, judges seems to be really strict, machida seems to lose levels as well but congrats hopefully can do better tomorrow
or Russian Nationals almost always ... But I don't think it means to be "strict", just not absurdly inflated. There's much more strict panels out there. Yuzuru received 3 GOE across the board for his 4T and 3A, didn't he? This isn't strict at all. Also Shoma received all level 4 I think. Anyway, I prefered his performance at GPF even with the lutz fall, he seemed more "there" to me. I would put his PCS down a few points. Still, hang on to the free (and the lutz) Yuzuru !! Earn this title rightfully, I know you can do it :yay:
-tastic but that was Olympic+national inflation scoring and we all know how that goes. Its just weird how this year it seem like those 2 were "underscored" in levels compared to what they'd get on the international level
