Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Edited: it's 3.72 m not 3.92 but anyways the ice coverage of that quad is crazy! They have another skater do quad to compare and Yuzuru's quad is longer about >90cm.

The very summary of the program (1st one):
There are two types of skating jumps; high-jump type (Pluchenko, Sotnikova) and broad-jump type (Chan, Kostner) considerting the vertical velocity and horizontal velocity, and Yuzuru's jump is such a SUPER broad-jump that can get high GOE, because it looks more huge to our eyes (his horizontal speed is 4.29m/s, almost the same speed of the electric drill they showed :laugh2: ).

EDIT: Honda-san is showing ISU GOE criteria, pointing out which elements he thinks Yuzuru has got for 4T.

I'm sure he is now laying out his strategy to prepare for the Worlds in his bed of the hospital :rolleye:
Get enough rest first, Yuzuru. Then, Kami-sama will tell you what you should do next

I sincerely hope so  Everything goes well with him starting tomorrow yes!

No wonder he looked mature more than usual at the nationals because he was in such a serious situation
What a year the 2014 is really, After he became an Olympic Champ and until today.
I was forced to realize that being his fan needs to become being mentally tough just like him. Sigh
But on the other hand, I fell that seeing him is like I am given a special privilege and it’s surely my pleasure :)

hope Yuzu speedy recovery.

Wow! Just now on the traditional Japanese New Years music show they did Hana wa saku live and showed Hanyu's NHK exhibition on a big screen...they also showed some clips of his Sochi performance. I was so surprised and touched, that was amazing

If hanyu watches tonight, I hope he knows everyone's support for him!

Yuzu's video appearance of Hana wa Saku in Kouhaku

Dropping by to say Happy New Years!! May 2015 be an even better year for Yuzuru and his family and hopefully he can remind in good health and good spirit!

Thank you to everyone who continuously posts updates and videos as well as a big  to all the amazing people who translates for us non-Japanese speakers! Wishing everyone a happy and healthy 2015!

Didn't watch the show, but according to some people, the atmosphere was indeed, how do I put it, weird.
It was like the whole show had been cheerful, until the hosts started talking about yuzuru's illness and the earthquake. And then people became very serious all of a sudden, as if yuzuru is extremely ill.....

Seriously he has to stay in hospital for 2 weeks not 2 years! :laugh2: The show MC seem to have some problems or maybe they thought his condition was severe. I am sure even Yuzuru would find it weird if he watched the show. Like: "Heck, I am here and still alright...:slink:"

Anyways I am watching his performance when he was 13, full of energy. I like Sing Sing Sing very much, I hope next season he will try this kind of music again: http://youtu.be/2ycoGp4q9Ms

I've noticed too when I watch TV videos that whenever the earthquake or collision references are brought up (rather frequently also ...) they treat it just soooo over the top dramatic, I can't even. I guess it's being the same with his surgery. If I were a casual viewer watching it I would just change channels. :laugh:I know they are going for the drama effect but still, take it easy.

happy new year everyone! wishing yuzuru, his family and friends and to all of you very happy, healthy year, may all your wishes come true and i hope it wont be so much of a rollercoster year for yuzuru so he can relax a bit so we can go back to talk about costumes and all the unnecessary stuff :cheer:  and also thank you everyone for updates :yay:

What was even worse, immediately after hana wa saku, the next song was to honor a dead singer, so I heard. So it felt like this whole section of the show was designed to remember some dead celebrities.....:drama:

Let's do a short timeline about Yuzuru's 2014 year and his ups and downs:

- February: Wins Olympics Gold (UP)
- March: Wins Worlds 2014 (UP)
------- SUMMER -----------
- October: Withdrew from Finlandia trophy due to back pain (DOWN)
- November: Collision at COC (DOWN)
4th at NHK trophy. (DOWN)
- December: Wins GPF (UP)
Wins Japan Championships (UP)
Surgery for urachal remnant disease. (DOWN)

Overall a rollercoaster year that opens up with an Olympics Gold and ends up with a New years eve surgery, but it's four UPs and four DOWNs, maybe it evens ... I hope that 2015 will be a much more cheerful year for Yuzuru with more ups than downs for sure. Even if it's still not 2015 here, Happy New Year for everyone at this thread too. May all your wishes come true.

Maybe Yuzuru´s segment was designed to be a message of triumph and more cheerful, but since Yuzuru got sick and got surgery just two days ago, they felt that will disrespectful not to send theirs regards.

The difficulties of live tv.
