Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Thank you~ That sounds like an amazing opportunity for Yuzu if it's true :yay: Funny cause as I was watching the warm-ups, I thought to myself "that jacket looks really nice on him" as amazing as he looks in black, I love seeing him in white too. Isn't Kanako with Nike too? I remember seeing her in an ad with a sports company but don't remember which one it was....

Kanako is Adidas---- Brand Divorce :hopelessness:

And he also wore that yellow scarf at the GPF practices, which has been captured to be from Nike too...;)

I'm sure Yuzu would be very happy to hear this  And don't worry about your english, it's great!

He is like an angel for those reasons. He's a really special skater to all of us and he is very inspiring. Your English is fine to me.

Thank you shiroKJ and cheerknithanson! You're so sweet! ;)
I'm still walking baby steps!

Happy new year and best wishes to everyone and of course to Yuzu!

Since this forum pretty much has all resources/links/videos about Yuzu already, this is probably a repeat... plz forgive my laziness to make sure it hasn't been posted before...

Free programs for Murakami Daisuke & Yuzu & Nakamura Kento & Tatsuki at the 2008 Japan Junior Nationals...

Interesting to see the dynamics at that time! I don't understand Japanese but it was pretty obvious that Machida (18 yr old then) was the one favored to win, it was his final year in the junior circuit. After the SP, Tatsuki was in 1st, over 12 points ahead of Yuzu, who was in 4th. In the end, the 14 yr old Yuzu pulled off an upset and surprise win in his 1st year as a junior (having won novice category the year before). There was only 1 spot for Japan to send to Junior Worlds and Machi missed out by 1.24 points.

I found it interesting to see that Tatsuki already had pretty good skating skills then (with not as much pimple scars and no eyeliner!), and Yuzu had amazing musically and expression. :)

I miss Nanami Abe so much! Does anyone know what she is doing? Is she coaching someone?

And I'm late, but I wish an amazing 2015 for everyone!!

Don't worry too much about it guys, the athletes do wear personal stuff and even Kanako, who is an adidas brand endorser, gets to wear clothes from other brands (especially if it's the national sponsor; you see them wearing mizuno at times too!).

What I'd like to see is Yuzu and Kana getting their faces on an ANA plane though. hehe. They're both sponsored by ANA anyway.

Mii9000 from the other forum has helped me with the part 1 of the documentary about Yuzuru's jump at Sochi. Thank you Mii9000!!!

Happy new year to everyone! (cheerleader)
I have found a Japanese Tv documentary about Yuzuru's SP at Sochi. I hope Japanese poster can help me with this.
Part 1: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2do2d1_データ-前半_sport
It seems Yuzuru's quad toe at Sochi was 3.72m in term of ice coverage.
Part 2: http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2dnf8h_データ-後半_sport

Hi, meoima (pika3)
This is a summary for only Part 1. Sorry it is very sketchy (pika10)

===========================
Try to find the secrets of Yuzu’s jumps

0:00~6:00 Talked about how well Yuzu skated in OG, how good his jumps were, and about the general judging system of FS

Yuzu’s travelling distance of his 4TL is 3.72m

Two kinds of speed in a jump = the vertical speed and the horizontal speed

Yuzu’s vertical speed = 2.62m/sec
Horizontal speed = 4.29m/sec

There are two types of jumpers; the high jump type and the long jump type.
Patrick and Carolina are in the long jump type.
Yuzu’s is the ultra-long jump type = leads to high GOE
People perceive a movement bigger if something moves wide horizontally compared to a vertical movement. Hence Yuzu’s jumps look good.

But his style is more difficult to rotate. When you jump straight up, it is easier to make and keep the axis of jumps.

(16:10~) There are 8 points of GOE for jumps and the red ones on the screen are those Takeshi thinks Yuzu’s 4TP satisfied.

(16:50~) Rotation
The arm posture of double jumps and that for triple jumps are different.
In a triple jump she keeps arms closer to her body

It causes 0.7 sec difference to rotate once between a double jump and a triple jump. When arms are stretch out as in the double jump, moment of inertia gets big. Bigger moment of inertia is, harder to rotate

0.215sec for yuzu to complete a single rotation. Yuzu’s rotation speed is slightly faster than Plushenko’s. This too makes his jumps look good (free from UR).

If you are tall and thin, it is easier for you to rotate. The weight is concentrated around the center (axis) of the body and that makes it easy to rotate. Yuzu has that physique.

:laugh2: Hello Kitty style?

A Happy New Year to everyone :cheer:

This is a Russian news clip introduced in this blog.
They seem to have been misinformed that he underwent a surgery for bladder instead of urinary remnant :confused2:

Yeah, I saw the bladder mix-up on a few english articles as well

Looking for information on Nanami sensei (I know she does choreography in Sendai an I think she still works at Sendai rink), I found this old post from Morozombi, I have been dying laughing:
From 2011 also this
About this year SP, man, I´m dying , specially this part:
My feelings towards Yuzuru Hanyu's skating is increasingly starting to resemble a love life far more exciting than my own. In 2011, I waxed lyrical about Mr. Hanyu through various infatuated paeans dedicated to his utter perfection.

:drama: I come in to see that Yuzu might be contracted by Nike? That would be a huge deal :cheer2: Glad the New Year started with some good rumors ;)

Thanks to Vanshilar who has calculating the jumps of several skaters at GPF 2014, I have calculated the average of Yuzuru, Javi and Voronov's jumps, and here's the data:

1) All the jumps except the single loop and luzt. Had Yuzuru didn't fall on that 3luzt at the end, the his height average must be higher a bit.
Yuzuru: 4S+4T+3F+3Lz+2T+3A+3T+3A+3S+3Lo+3Lz= 477/11 (jumps) = 43.4 cm average on each jump
Javi: 4T+ 3S+2T+3A+4S+3F+3S+3Lo+2T+3T=407/10 (jumps) = 40.7 cm average on each jump
Voronov: 4T+3A+2T+3T+3T+3lutz+3A+3S+3Lo+2T+2Lo+2A = 499/12 (jumps) = 41.6 cm average on each jump

2) But if we ONLY count the different types of jump, then
Yuzuru (he jumps all 6 types of jumps): 4S+4T+3A+3F+3Lz+3Lo= 296/6 (types of jumps) = 48.83 cm average on each jump
Javi (he singled the luzt at GPF, but let's assume his lutz is as high as Yuzuru's which is 50cm): 286/6= 47.66 cm average on each jump
Voronov (he only jumped 5 types of jumps, no flip): 4T+3A+3S+3luzt+3lo= 235/5 = 47 cm average on each jump

Since Yuzuru is so definite about retiring after the 2018 Olympics, I hope he would show new programs every season (if he can). It would be great to see what he'll have in store in the future competitive seasons. But first comes health!

i hope he will change his programs too but not because i dont like them but because if he decides to retire after 2018 we would have more programs of him (sorry , i m selfish) :slink: and am i the only one that want stephane to choreograph for him?

thanks meoima for translation but we already knew he has the perfect body type :laugh2: :o:
and omg that baseball player is hilarious :D
