Yuzuru Hanyu: 2014-15 Season

Ah, those were really annoying questions that the interviewer asked... It was clear that she wanted a particular (type of) answer, which never makes for an interesting interview...

I agree! But that's Why I think yuzu really has high eq and kept on smiling and not showing any signs of annoyance, besides those headache moment though! He's forced to talk about Beijing and whether he likes Beijing when he never even went there before!

Isn't Tokyo competing with Beijing to be Olympic host country? (if my memory is right ) So it's actually really Really inappropriate to ask yuzu about this!

No, Tokyo went for Summer Olympic 2020 and won it. Beijing is going for Olympic 2022 against Almaty.

Oh, I so hope next season Yuzu would go to SA and TEB.
Seriously, why he never skipped NHK?
Japan is going to see him at Japan nationals anyway, right?
With Patrick`s being back it would be better for both of them to let Patrick be SC`s only star.
And besides, Yuzu deserves to complete his gold collection of GP series, he already has Rostelecom Cup aka COR, and NHK Trophy. He needs to win SA, TEB, SC an COC. Big task, considering Yuzu is not early bloomer.

I see! Thanks for your info! looks like it's highly possible for us to reach page 1300 before wtt:biggrin:
Sure. Anyways, is it just me or Yuzuru was so uptight in this interview (WTT) http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2lsw9d_2015-04-06-シーズン最終戦へ_sport

He said 2nd is a failure or something. It's good that he wants revenge as he did not skate well at WC (well enough for most people IMO) but honestly it's just WTT. Yuzuru needs to loosen up a bit IMO. WTT is a fun competition. I hope someone will point that out to him. No need to stress himself like that.

Given how he skate his Chopin at WC, I'd say Yuzuru has not peaked yet and he is still improving. A 2013 Yuzuru would never be able to skate to Chopin.

Well, he didn't go to NHK Trophy in 2013. But yes you are right it's a big task if he wants to get all gold of GP series. This year I think Javier is able to choose first so maybe he will choose SA (to avoid Patrick Chan?). So it's really an unpredictable situation.

If Javi chose SA, then Yuzuru will not be in SA, maybe he will go to SC instead. I hope he will compete at NA, he needs to adjust to the air there for Boston.
Lol I hope Javi will choose NHK, so Yuzuru can go anywhere else.

Brilliant idea! Let the Japanese son-in-law choose NHK Trophy.

Well throughout 6 years of being on the GP circuit, Javi has never been to SA or CoC, so maybe he might choose those. Patrick has also gone to SC for the past 6 years (not counting this season) so Im not to sure he will pick it again... He has also never gone to CoC, but I get a strange feeling, his second assignment might be NHK. Yuzu is harder to predict since he has been to all the GP competitions but I hope he gets one of the assignments he has never won yet :)

But looking through all the past GP assignments, Yuzu has placed at every single GP either 1st or 2nd!:cheer:

Anyone else hope that Patrick and Yuzuru end up going to the same GP circuit events? Is there a chance that it'll possibly happen?

Also to @Meoima, I agree that Yuzu should be less hard on himself because it seems like every time something doesn't go accordingly, he blames mainly himself.

He puts too much pressure and responsibility onto himself, which is why I want him to have a fun program next season. He's going to burn out before 2018 at this rate, both physically and emotionally. :hopelessness: I think he's extra frustrated this season because of all that's happened and he want redemption of sorts. :ohwell: Lets hope he can give the skate he wants at WTT, then maybe he'll feel a bit better and stop blaming himself. at least for now:slink:

Daisuke Takahashi did NHK trophy 7 or 8 times. I'm guessing that Yuzuru might do the same and skate NHK every year.

Skate America? I have NO clue. I'm anxious as you are to find out the location. I hope he does Skate America.
Keeping my fingers crossed he does SA too and hoping it's on the west coast. I doubt it will be in Boston since Worlds is there, but you never know.

No man has won all current GP events right (Mao is the only singles skater)? I hope he accomplishes that...

He is what he is because of that.
I guess Orser made the choice of GP earlier for Yuzu so he could get accustomed to skate with Patrick.
And now I don`t think they really need to meet each other before GPF.

Yeah!!! Totally!! Please, let it happen!:biggrin:

Since GPF again in Barcelona...

Javi this season: SC and CoR so next season he will likely to choose SA and CoC/TEB (or NHK but I don't think JSF like the idea)
Yuzuru this season: CoC and NHK so next season he will likely to go to SC and NHK (or CoR/Teb but unlikely, he is required at NHK thanks to JSF)

yeah he is putting too much pressure on himself, but selfish me thinks that at times like these we witness magical skates from him :slink: so lets hope that he wil find the right balance

I don't get JSF's logic to wanting to put Yuzu at NHK, its quite obvious Japan (maybe China) is going to be the most packed audience regardless of whether Yuzu is there or not. Japan has always had a huge and respectful audience for figure skating. I don't think they are going to need Yuzu to fill seats necessarily, IMO.
