Yuzuru Hanyu: 2015-16 Season

I have a number of little 1080 HD videos on my phone of Yuzuru at Autumn Classic, including more of the medal ceremony. I culled 15-second segments to Instagram, but there is additional material on some videos. There are also shots obscured by the people in the 1st row & other things that should be edited out, so they can't just be uploaded to YouTube. If anyone likes to make montages or gifs or knows someone who does & who would like to use this raw footage, message me. No piece is over 3 minutes, so I think I could just email them. Thanks.

LOL that would be such a bummer and can ruin your focus lol. But I think it was fine in the arena, it's just the problem with the audio online streaming and not happening in the actual sound system in the arena.

WHOA that's impressive!! Imagine how complicated it is to create such detail while incorporating the elements of the step. (also, that person has the time in the world to actually do the graph haha)

Aaw that's so cute!! Yuzu sure is huggable

And just like Meoima said, it's unrealistic to always keep expecting him to always deliver perfect or close to perfect performance every single time. Especially this early to the season, the perfect outcome isn't what is desired the most, rather a chance to look into every bit of the elements of the program and see which ones should and can be improved or fixed. I think he himself is very aware of people's expectation and that just makes him want to strive just a little more for the best. I just hope it won't weigh him or burden him too much.
Some people sometimes are just so critical towards someone/something that I personally think it's unrealistic (lol again) for me to wish them think otherwise because they just couldn't help it.

Thanks for sharing the medal ceremony fancam!!

Yes, I'm quite content that he did so well in his first competition. A skating season is a marathon, and everyone needs to start out at the right pace for them.

I hope this is okay to ask... does anyone happen to know of a youtube playlist or something similar with all of Yuzuru Hanyu's performances over the years (SP, LP, EX), focusing on the best performances of each one? I cannot imagine there not being something like that out there, but I'm having trouble finding it. I realize "best performance" is a bit open to interpretation, that's not a problem.

Here's my own, though I see a couple have been deleted. I think it still has all of his competitive performances and ex. There are sometimes two performances of a program, however, from two events since it was hard to tell which was best (usually mistakes in different places, lol). If this is to show Yuzu to somebody who's not a fan yet, then I'd recommend the Chopin from Japanese nationals which I don't have. Oh, and I put his Swan Lake EX next to his 2010/11 SP, in case you're wondering where it is.

Now that I think of it, that list needs some pruning and updating and perhaps I will make one on dailymotion which often has better videos.

Wonderful, thank you so much!
No, it's just for my own selfish purposes, although now that you mention it, I think I know of a few people who should totally see this, too.
I felt the sudden need to educate myself better in the world that is Yuzuru Hanyu, now that the new GP season is approaching.

edit to add: oh my gosh, how cool! There's a video of Yuzuru at the World Junior 2010 championships. I don't think I've ever even seen it. I always feel so stupid when I think about how he was right here about an hour away from me, and I never even knew. (I became a figure skating fan around that time, but juniors weren't high on my list of priorities yet, and I just didn't know we had the Worlds right here at home, pfft).

I think we should be happy that currently he is just as he is right now.
I don't want him to peak too early. So yes they expect highly from him, it's irrational in my opinion because it's still early season and all people who understand this sport know that great and super clean performance in the very first competition has no meaning when it's 6 months latter at World Championship. Of course if he did too badly it's alarming but he did so so and it's so obvious he has ok preparation. So he is as he is now, it's perfect in my view as he still has room to grow more. He understands that and stays humble. All of the expectation they're throwing at him, I find it irrational that maybe they want him to be super clean while we all know his record to skate quite meh at the early season. For now it doesn't matter if they rave about him like crazy or not, he doesn't need the gushing from the media. He needs competitions to get feedback from the judges and to know which he lacks and in which part of the programs he need to improve and upgrade.

I didn't take Minoru Sano's comments as what is called criticism.
They were just normal comments, and he talked just what he noticed.
He even said "It was a good jump though." for the second 4T that Yuzuru fell.
And, "It was not a totally satisfactory performance yet (I heard this "for Yuzuru")."
"This program will surely give very exotic impression to foreign judges, with high appreciation."

EDIT:

This is the TV Asahi version of Autumn Classic SP and FS without too many notices on the screen, aired yesterday after the program about the Finlandia.

Even I don't know what's on that list anymore. After the competitive performances, it's a mess.

Interesting fact: back in 2010 Yuzu would have made #11 at the Olympics with his Junior World score (and top 10 in the FS), but that score would have barely put him in 3rd in 2015 Junior Worlds and most likely wouldn't even be enough for podium in 2016. It's amazing how the discipline has advanced just in a few years.

How a clean Seimei will look like, made by a fan, this is the combination of 2 practice: http://youtu.be/FvkCejzJQ6E

Thank you for the clip!:)

Seimei FS is out of this world, it’s a real brave, very original choice of music which flows perfectly in Yuzu’s blood & soul and brings me back to old fantastic golden memories.
Happy to know Seimei is a Yuzu’s idea , it’s time for him to be primarily involved in every decision about his career.
I do hope he ‘ll work with Shae Lynn on the choreo in the next weeks, surely Yuzu has already done a very good job because Seimei looks like an extremely demanding and killing program both physically and mentally but he was able to handle it till the very end. What a shining talent!

GOOOO YUZUUUU!!!!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

I fully agree. Seimei will be in the construction process during the season. Yuzu did his best and all the TCC staff are aware of the necessary improvements. I also liked the Seimei linen and hope he does not make many changes.

Is very beautiful. A dream to watch. Seimei have seen more than 20 times. It's my favorite after RJ 1. The art of this fan is simply divine. I believe that Yuzu is pursuing this goal with your soul. What a glorious program. Congratulations to all of the TCC team.

Thank you for sharing
